Just FYI guys you dont need a pro to replace it, the crimped metal the wires are attached to just pulls off, and you can then push it onto the new bulb, very easy
I also have a few generic bulbs on hand www.ebay.com/itm/165778452068?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338683291&customid=Px747Bulb&toolid=10001&mkevt=1
@@geostomp how has the new bulb you bought off amazon faired a few months in? would you go with them again? is it as bright as when you first bought it?
The 747 is billed as a daytime projector, and I used a paint formulation to achieve high gain reflective properties as seen in my wall painting video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MUdvgIKlllg.html. So to show with the lights on is to show daytime performance. The 727 is the Viewsonic theatre projector with a nighttime style color wheel with no clear section, a clear section that which helps combat ambient light and is often used in conjunction with a high gain painted surface or projector screen as seen in this video.
Where did you buy the bulb and how much was it? Because on viewsonic website is $235.buying off market generic brands are they any good. I'm thinking about buying PX748.
I don't have a specific video. I blow it out with compressed air or air duster. Compreased air can be humid so I allow an hour before turning the projector on. I use a chip brush on hard spots. Try not to blow dust further into the case. A person might be able to gently clean the color wheel with a Qtip. Never spin up the fans with the air (for fun*) because they will act as motor generators and back feed electrical current to the board potentially damaging components. I always hold the fans still one way or the other.
I am thinking about buying viewsonic PX748 4000 Lumens, but i checked the lamp price on viewsonic website for $235. is the generic lamps any good? thanks
The generic lamps work but it is better to have the OEM lamp. Some of the more expensive options include the cage which you don't need unless your time is very valuable monetarily. A new lamp of any make is better than an old lamp of any make.
@@jeet-Seattle Those Lazers go out too I heard from a tech it's like 5 bulbs or so and then $500 to replace. I like the LED idea but it would have to be like the ones that last. ViewSonic does have an LED projector that looks like A JVC or Sony but it doesn't seem as popular. 240hz is nice and even at 1080P, I play Dirt 4 (need 4090) and the information comes across in buckets and looks lifelike on my UHD38X which is same generation as px748.
@geostomp thank you very much brother for replying and helping..LED come with 20.000/30.000 hrs but they are expensive, but you know better ..so I think I will just get that PX748 4000 lumens bright..
Great video. Turns out my problem though is the color wheel itself. Do you know how I can replace that? Or even order a replacement color wheel? Or is my PX747-4K projector toast? THANKS!!
I had the color wheel problem and bought from ViewSonic for $150. You have to take all the boards apart (it sits on bottom front upside down) and mine hasn't worked since. It may be broken in another way or I need a button code to reset the projector. If you know you know, and if you don't, ❤️🩹
Hey there, great video. Do you have a link for the bulb? I just got this projector in February and it already gave out on me. I don't think i have 400 hours on it yet.
