You have perfect timing for me on your review of the Short Saver! I have just completed the wiring of my Matek F765 and Matek 411 flight controllers. I was planning on doing the initial power up of both controllers this evening. Half way through your video I clicked on the Amazon link and ordered a Short Saver. It will take less than 2 days to arrive. I think it will be a good idea to wait for this device. What could possibly go wrong !!?? I can see from the short circuit test you showed that this device would have saved me from several "smoke tests" that were simple dumb mistakes I have made while wiring things up.

Yes, I certainly recommend the ShortSaver. I've been using the first version now on all my new builds, or just when I need a quick adapter from XT30 to XT60 to power something on the bench. I've got a pretty good track record for not burning things up, but there's a few times in the past this would have saved me some time/money/frustration... lol I really like the power button on this V2, super handy when working at the bench, binding a receiver, etc.

Hi bro, thanks for the content, i believe you are the best experienced guy to help with me out with a project: i need to do aerial video surveillance in my farm which is about 60 Hectare, that means for me, some sort of a really long range flight plane, so i'm thinking into an RC motorized glider with the main purpose of saving energy in all time flight: due to your expertise what do you suggest me related to the glider choice; motor and electronics like transmitter receiver itself? Thanks for the help! happy new year by the way!! Lol

Honestly my best advice would be to look for something ready to go available as a commercially made package, and make sure all your bases are covered as far as legalities in your country. To completely start from scratch and learn all the skills necessary to build, configure, and fly a higher end long-ish range platform probably isn't viable or worth it, unless you're in it for the fun and willing to spend years perfecting your craft. ;) It would be like someone asking the best way to learn to design, machine, weld, paint, mold plastics, produce necessary electronics, rubber parts, etc. to build an automobile instead of going pick one off the lot! There's still a few out there that do like the challenge of building/restoring automobiles from the ground up including engine machine work, custom parts, paint, etc. It's a hobby and will only pay off if you're in it for the destination and not the journey.
