You can also make this more secure by switching up the index. For example you could set a=5 or h=12, etc

wait so what is the difference between this vigenere and the vigenere where you follow the table consisting of rows of A-Z and columns of A-Z?

There is no difference. It's just a different method.

Vigenere cipher is when u arrange the key letter below plain text letters and use this C=(p+k) mod26 to encrypt each letter. But this method and your method has different answers

Thanx I've just coded this algo in Matlab. And I've extended it for all possible characters i.e. uppercase lowercase, special, symbols, digits etc.

You could use letters instead of numbers with each letter indicating the ROT scheme
