Seems like generally its abt two people whos relationship is in turmoil cuz one is emotionally damaged and lives in a self centered depressed state causing them to distance themselves completely and that affects the both of them, the vigil part coming in with the other being torn between letting go and “going to sleep” or continuing to “pray” or “keep watch” for this person who clearly is down a path that could destroy them, which completely ties together “cant see in the dark so wheres ur gun cant u see what youve done” it also seems like both of tjem are shifting perspective thruout the song, but yea all in all i interpret it as a song thats about running away not like from home but in general
