Viking Cruising In 2024: Don't Make These Mistakes On Your Viking Cruise 

This is our experience as well. Do not book Viking air if you care about how you get there and back. We paid for the air, the plus, then the deviation (to get there timely), and then still had to pay extra since it wasn’t in the contract rate. It ended up being cheaper for one direction from the airline. The other way we threaded the needle to get it through Viking (with all the upgraded fees). It wasn’t much cheaper than just getting it directly. The final insult was we were asked to pay for seat assignments. I would equate Viking air as basic economy if you don’t care about your itinerary.
