nailed it ! they are a little rubber toggle that clips over the bungy and they do exactly as you assume - also easy for rod tips to get under. I thought it was the same tackle pod in both the 400 and the reload???

@@Alexxx---101 The 400 has a moulded storage area with lid. You can purchase a tackle pod to go in there but not the same system as the GT and Reload.

Thanks - and on the fishfinder my only advise is to make sure it s Chartplotter combo - get Navionics you need to know where you're going and where you have been as we cover ground much slower then boats do so can stumble over a patch of ground or bait that has been missed by others. Always watch the sounder like your hunting fish down - they move so you move and go find them or even just find the bait because they will be near even if you can't identify them on the sounder. Most of the brands these days are good for kayaks but make sure you have DiElectric grease around the connections at all times - I have ruined more batteries and power cables then i care to mention due to being careless.

Profish Reload, GT or the Profish 440 as they can all carry more gear due to storage options being better

Yes there was a fire and it destroyed alot ..Viking is currently rebuilding fast so the reload will be available again soon. Re selling yours because you don’t use it then yeh do it- someone will be glad to have it and use it.

Def Reload - you will just be more comfortable - also one I did not review that may be better fit if your less experienced is the Profish 440...much flatter hull so greater initial stability, plenty of leg and cockpit room also. I did not review it as its not really designed for someone of my frame where the reload and 400 certainly suit me

Hey mate yes 400 is a bit less to manage but can still achieve a lot with it. Would own one in my fleet if I had space as there are some days I just need a grab and go yak that is well capable. Tempo 2 is the one that will be a handful, get a trailer for that

@@robyntooke717 they certainly do - We have the Nemo (3.2m) and the Espri (3.6m) in out fleet, both great, my preference is the espri as was it our youngest son Alexander. At age 8 he worked out which one was the easiest to paddle and now aged 12 still chooses the espri over the smaller ones as it glides through the water much nicer

Yeah I have one really stable, take it offshore fishing, probably not the fastest but I haven't used a reload, just purchased a espri angler for family, thats fun in the surf

@@jkghbay6632 certainly can do the job but if offshore is your main activity you will find the reload and 400 are better choices as they paddle much nicer, also now you have had experience in the GT and Espri stability concerns will be no issue - love the Espri for the surf and general all round use. Next vid I am posting hopefully tonight but def tomorrow is a mad session in big surf in the espris

speed is relative to many things like conditions, paddler experience, payload etc... best I can offer there is that in rougher water the reload holds its pace a little better due to in part the bow flare lifting over waves more then the 400 that will punch through and slow momentum. On flat water there is very little in it as far a cruising speed - maybe 1.5km at best..they are cruising kayaks after all not racing kayaks so the comfortable cruising speed is what you need to be looking for - for me in the reload on an average weather day is about 6.5 - 7kmhr at about 60% effort
