The word 'underrated' is not sufficient to describe this mad genius called Vikramaditya Motwane. I can never understand why his films ain't being watched by the audiences. He doesn't make boring arthouse films. He makes genre films.. extremely well made genre films.. his films ain't even celebrated as 'underrated classics'. As for me I consider Udaan, Lootera, Bhavesh Joshi, Trapped, Jubilee as great masterpieces and I want to see him being celebrated before he loses his form. For me, after Ray and Mani Ratnam it's Motwane.

totally agree with you. I'm still gobsmacked that Bhavesh Joshi didn't perform well at the BO. Like this is one movie that actually sets a benchmark for all other Indian Superhero movies. Simple story, well executed action scenes and brilliant acting.

I loved this interview cos unlike other writer directors where they explain their screenwriting tips and camera work, Motwane really digs deep into the production, preproduction and art part of movie making which probably many of us had no clue about. This was a brilliant interview. Can even be dubbed as a movie making masterclass.

Absolutely bang on. This is the first interview I am watching of Vikramaditya Motwane. So much depth of thought. The rapport between BR & VM comes through in this interview. They are on the same page.
