Hi Arlene. I bought the original because I fell in love with the bottle and I really wanted to like it but I ended up returning it because it was just too strong for me. I'm not really a fan of this designer and I don't like flower bomb either. The bottle is very cute tho it reminds me of like a gypsy or something. Thank you and blessings to all ❤
I also tried a sample and i had high hope's for this perfume but unfortunately its not what i expected it smells so different then the notes are indicated. It smells very smoky and intoxicating.
I have a sample of the original Good Fortune, and I'm also not crazy about it. Kind of an "eh" feeling. Seems mostly like a jasmine vanilla to my nose. And I would consider it a safe blind buy for people who like those 2 notes. But definitely nothing to write home about. That being said I have a LOT of perfumes, so it has to be pretty special for me to love and reach for it often. As far as designer perfume, I did get the Black Opium Le Parfum and I'm loving it. (I love the Extreme version as well.) And I also got Libre Le Parfum and it's really nice too. I'm not the biggest orange blossom fan, so a perfume with a lot of it is never going to be one of my favorites, however it's nice and I'm impressed with the interesting notes. Like the addition of saffron, ginger and honey. It makes it really interesting and more memorable than so many other releases. Hours after I put it on the first time I actually started getting a soapy vibe with a tiny bit of spice and that was really nice. But when I wore it again recently I wasn't feeling it as much. Just not enjoying it. And I do wonder if my nose gets fatigue at times from all the vanilla and tonka based perfumes I wear, so that when l put on a perfume with notes I don't wear often (like ginger, saffron and orange blossom) my nose ONLY detects those notes. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I swear this is a phenomenon I experience at times. Because I'll be nose blind to sweet vanilla perfumes, but I can pick up a rose dominant perfume (like Very Good Girl, or Hibiscus Mahajád) and I can smell it so intensely. Theres gotta be something to that. Like building up a tolerance? Idk. But it's frustrating for sure. Because with that Libre Parfum, it so much better when you get the honey, bourban vanilla and tonka. Anyway thanks for sharing! 😊
Ohhh BO Le Parfum is soo nice! Glad you're loving it, it's still on my wishlist but hope to get it sometime. It's interesting you mention nose fatigue, as I'm sure that happens often with many people. I feel it most when I'm testing many perfumes in store, one after another. I’ve heard nothing but terrible things about this flanker, which is interesting because the same thing happened with the original. They just really seemed to fail this whole fragrance…
I'm disappointed in this , been waiting for a mainstream house to make a spooky-ish scent. I've been a fan of goth indie houses for years so seeing the notes piqued my interest but both this & the original were just meh. Love the bottle tho.
