There can never be a track with a composition like this, i often ask folks when i show them music like this ""what emotions/thoughts do you feel when you hear this ? "" and if their eye movements and facial expressions change pondering the question i just asked them, then you know you got a damn good composition on your hands !
That sucks! I have a good 40 or so hours in it and I thought it was fantastic. Totally tension building stuff when you play alone. Sorry you didn't have a good time with the game.
I love vildhjarta and have since their last album came out... I think this is their best song so far but I havent heard the rest of the EP. Still, this is amazing.
***** It sounds to me like a super compressed acoustic guitar with a direct input. Maybe some sort of acoustic with nylon strings. I've never really heard any kind of chorus effect like this, I've been playing guitar for 14 years. Unless I missed some sort of acoustic pre-amp effect, which would be sick.
mikeyxbriches Nope they used their normal guitars with Lundgren M7 pickups. According the guy who mixed/mastered the EP it is electric guitar DI into an acoustic simulator.
This is a complete progression, never doubt Vildhjarta's musical growth. This is brilliant. Just enough to make me want more without building expectations for the remaining tracks, well played.
Just awesome. It's not often that I'm actually surprised by this particular brand of metal anymore, but Vildhjarta is one of the few bands (along with Meshuggah) that still manages to do so. Keep it up guys!
Nunca esqueço a primeira vez que escutei essa música, eu estava completamente chapado e tive o prazer de cair nesse universo em forma de música. Lembro que fiquei viajando no som e no clip também, demorei para sair daquela viagem...
As far as transitions go, perhaps keeping it all acoustic or distorted ran together & giving it that abrupt change added dynamic to the song. Their guitar tone is amazing, instead of shoving razors into your ears with high frequencies they lull you in the mid section. May sound a little flat but the bass guitar picks up the bottom end & the drums/cymbals shine & snap a little more by picking up the high end. Let us not forget the kick that hammers.
I think I just acquired a new taste for this band. Despite its simplicity, something about this track really captures the aesthetic I wanted to get from Vildhjarta. I hope the new album is interlaid throughout with this dense, brooding, clean-guitar easy listening. I realize they've done it a lot in the past, but this feels a lot fuller, and I like that they dedicated a whole song to this sort of sound, even if its purpose is to conclude or lead into another song.
all you guys saying negative things have to realize that the focus of this track isnt crushing guitars, its most likely going to lead into another song seeing as the guitars on the end of the track are filtered and dont sound full, its a common technique.
Sounds to me (based on the various teasers floating around) that this EP will be something of a concept that self-references between tracks. Really looking forward to hearing this track in context!
