Spot on Max regarding communication with the Club and fans. Ive been a STH in R2 since the start of 2016/17 season. Im one of the 900 displaced STH. I think its a disgrace who in their right mind signed that one off about making that area hospitality! How can that possibly work right next to away fans???? Fan banter between us and the away fans is a good laugh particularly the fans from europe now thats been taken away from us for "prawn sandwich" now i like a lot of others will lose that friendship with all the others in and around where my seat was.

Renewed my ST on Monday, disgraceful the treatment of the 900 fans whose seats have been taken away. Round badge was better, as you say not enough Claret and too much Yellow. UTV

I know they don’t want season tickets anymore, but clubs really need to be careful. If they alienate the core fan then there will be empty seats at games, also with games being on TV. Yes they could make more money but any atmosphere will evaporate faster than cats piss on a hot tin roof. How about offer some decent discounts or a free shirt for loyalty. If they gave me something back I’m more likely to want to spend more with them. It’s not difficult.

16 years in the north stuck with villa through the bad times (which was at least 12 of those years) only to get dumped by the club as soon as we taste a bit of success for "premium" seating disgraceful.

Great job as always. We need to call out Villa failing on the basics… no signal/wifi in the ground; takes forever to get drinks/food in the ground (contrast Stamford Bridge and Palace where pints lined up); food crap everywhere especially The Lower Grounds; and facilities for non prem VP games are crap.. the Birmingham Senior Cup Final against Racing Club Warwick where I was embarrassed that their fans came to the ‘big club stadium’ and food and drink service worse than at their place!

I can’t believe they threw us all out the holte suite and started charging £60 for entry. I’m not going to a be surprised with anything they do going forward. I go everywhere with villa, every away, every euro and sometimes the players can hardly be bothered to come over at the end! Disappointing. They are in another world and don’t realise what us fans put in time wise to follow them everywhere. Anyway UTV and bring on the champions league !!

Concerning the badge, I just think it's gone back to being corporate and bland. I grew up with the 70s / 80s roundel badge, but I thought last season's effort was a mess with the lion facing the wrong way. My personal favourite was the early 70s badge of just the lion and 'AV' underneath with no surround required. Nice and simple, no faff. I see that Arsenal's home shirt for next season has just their emblem with no nonsense, so why can't we do that sort of thing? Concerning Emery, I thought the thing he signed a couple of months ago was the club exercising the existing right to trigger an extension, to ward off Bayern Munich??? As this contract is a new shiny one. Concerning seating, as a non-season ticket holder, as long as I can still get in somewhere when I want to, I don't really care. Just being there is everything. I can`t believe they have gone from 29000 season ticket holders to 27000, these supporters are the backbone of our club and they are being treated poorly. All this to add 300 ish seats, as if that will make a difference. I`m sorry but I don`t think Heck is the man to be dictating seating arrangments at Villa Park. And as for the North Stand being cancelled saying its not the right time is also a joke. They could have built behind the Doug Eliis stand without to much disruption. Of course they will say the traffic infrastructure is not adequate for a Fifty thousand seater stadium, when most clubs are aiming for 60000 or more. Painting up and old warehouse and pissing about with a few seats smacks of amatureism to me.

The new badge is a lazy option in my opinion. It's too similar to the old badge and there isn't enough claret on it, plus I would have liked it to have included 'Prepared' too.

Badge is subjective - so not everyone will be happy. Ever. And you can get a worse product generally trying to please everyone. I personally think all the variations of it actually look great, except the main version. The main version is just... fine, like it is OK, but it just baffles me that we wouldn't use the detailed versions, be it the gold or the yellow one, as our main badge. They look infinitely better than the plain yellow. I just really don't get it. I wish it could be explained. Because even the vast majority people who do not like the new badge are even aligned in the thinking that the other variations are better (if you're not one of these people, save it, irdc) Glad we didn't stick with the round one, very dull, very generic, and alongside the rest of the league, we did not really stand out in anyway. Still subjective of course, but it seemed most agreed that the vote we was given before was between 2 poor badges. And it resulted in most voting for what they thought was the lesser of two evils. Anyway, happy overall with new badges, and very happy badge debating will finally be over. As for consultation, it's not changed much from previous badge. It has our name. Lion. Year founded. The Star. It is largely the same. And we have had a shield shape in our history more than the round badge. Not a big fan of how things are being run off the pitch and I do agree that fans should be consulted on issues, and if badge change was significant, but I do side with Club/Heck on this, did these changes made really need further consultation from what is just a microscopic set of fans? Bare in mind, the look of the badge is subjective, and these fan groups will have THEIR OWN subjective views they will share and not necessarily views of everyone else.

Hold on, hospitality in R2, are they having a laugh? WTF is that all about, and trust me, it's far from all teenage lads in there. Once Terrace View stopped me getting into K4 when the tickets go on sale for members I started going to Lower North. Hatton and Heck just don't have a clue do they.

Badge…I like the ‘shield’ format but really a yellow lion? It needs to be a claret! My favourite style, 1957 cup final badge.

The commercial aspect of the club has just slipped onto the start of the ski jump slope, going downhill rapidly. They're on the verge of alienating the majority of fans. The absolute last thing the club needs is to become another tourist plastic fan club, let's be honest the atmosphere ain't exactly great now so god knows what it might be like when we get the half and half scarf brigade installed.

The club need to be transparent with fans and tickets Everything on the field seems to be coming together, however a lot to be desired back in doors.

The space between the words ‘Aston’ and ‘Villa’ on the new badge should be centralised over the point down on the crest. It looks lopsided as it is and I can’t stop seeing it when I look at it.

Nice recap Max. The new badge is "fine" its the failure in consultation that needs to be addressed and fixed. Its a slippery slope. And yes I love the My Old Man Said podcast, they do a great job covering fan consultation and all things Villa. I still feel all current reversals by Heck, is "small man syndrome", reversing all of Purslow's changes!, the North Stand needed demolition, its so short sighted given Spurs, West Ham,Newcastle & Evertons incoming ground, are all bigger, arguably are rivals for the European spots!

I'd really appreciate a sum-up now and then, clarifying what's going on. The interest bit was interest-ing ;-) e.g. Questions to be clarified a bit more are e.g. why the safety stand doesn't increase the number of spectators (I assume there are chairs in all stands, but perhaps they don't need to be so wide at the HE?!, as I assume most people will stand anyhow). Also, the increase of ST prices ... are any CL games included (yes, I can have a look on the homepage, but it would be interesting to get it clarified, as it would be a legit reason for a ticket price increase). And something about the FFP situation would be interesting to hear Max's view on. The badge ... would easily take the 1982 version back. Imagine if we'd win the CL with it ;-) .... This what I’ve herd from my source at the club Now I bean told its Mckennie and luiz in a separate deal for FPP PSR it will be 12m mckennie and 60M luiz then Gallagher will cost 40M and Duran will go for 40m then villa will go for Dybala or Abraham they want the Hermso done aswell along with Barkley And would like two new left backs and Dumfries and want Chrisa for 25M that’s villa plan for the window They aren’t against selling both left backs and cash could possibly go if a offer of 30-40m comes in carlos will go for 20M donk10m 5mchambers and will get rid of Olsen the bring goalkeeper on loan and possibly sell cash for 30-40m and villa will probably sell Archer 20M

All year we been talking about how bad we feel for those guys opposite that are going to be moved from their seats, only to find my seat in Holte is now given to something else. Don’t share your opinion on the Barkley signing max he’s been past it since his early 20s we should b looking to sign more quality players than him. Nor do I share your opinion on the hospital I’m from Ireland and I’ve been supporting the club since the mid 90s I’m far from a prawn sandwich eater. I used hospitality 3 times last season and really enjoyed it. It was a nice treat for us

How do expect villa to compete with revenue and ffp without making changes to hospitality? The club has to generate more money or we can not compete like Newcastle

Badge : I was in Barcelona last month with Villa shirt ( white) and some randomer shouted "Chelsea Chelsea" at me - he was confused by the badge ( obviously!! ) .. so that was the trigger for AVFC identity in the badge ..the fact that AVFC has now become Aston Villa on the crest will be better for building "the brand" - we KNOW who AVFC are, but abroad?? .. #justsaying 🦁

I find it rather infuriating when you or any other prat says “prawn sandwich brigade”. Some people are fortunate enough to be able to have different experiences. You yourself have sat corporate and no doubt enjoyed your time in hospitality. Subtle language like that create an ‘us and them’ mentality. Do better.

Rivalling Dan Bardell for a moan ? The club needs to improve its revenue so we have to go with it , safe standing in L4 where we sit is great , the badge is fine if Messi was wearing it would we say ‘he’s great but the badge is crap’ nope.
