I met up with my friend Bramuel who took us to his farm and house (in the process of being built) in Machakos, Kenya. It was about a 2 hour drive to get there, but along the way we first stopped in Machakos town to eat, and then continued on to the farm. At the farm, we were treated to a fresh chicken and rabbit from the farm, and they cooked both dry and wet fry - classic Kenyan meat preparation. Also, the sukuma wiki was excellent.
Machakos, Kenya - TTOT Hotel - So first, along the way in this village food tour of Kenya, we stopped in Machakos. The mix of green maize and peas and delicious, along with beef stew. The beef stew was especially good with a sprinkle of lemon juice and pili pili (chili).
Total price - 3,000 KES ($29.61) for all
We arrived to Bramuel’s house in the countryside, way off the beaten path. And they immediately got started on our meal. They butched the chicken and rabbit, and we saw the entire process from start to finish of the meal. Along with dry fried chicken and rabbit wet fry, we also had a big pot of sukuma wiki, one of the best and most commonly eaten vegetables in Kenyan food, and ugali (ugali is made from maize meal, and is one of the most commonly eaten starches in Kenya). Everything was delicious, and I especially enjoyed the kachumbari, which was like Kenyan guacamole, to eat with all the meat.
Thank you to everyone who cooked and helped in this video, and thank you to Braumuel for inviting us over to his home.
Thank you for watching!

Diamond Clarity no I’m not.. you seemed to be ignorant of the hundreds of years of death and theft suffered by the indigenous people...had any of this happened in Europe they’d be screaming give me my country back...o wait they are!!!!imagine who can see what....and those people own no land and did not oppress Europeans for hundreds of years... just like America you only see it when it’s happening to you...you’re disgusting...you should have said nothing

Diamond Clarity Man people always bring about racist Rhodesia but let me tell you something white minority rule wasn't destined to last in Africa. If that could have happened their could be uncontrollable wars in this continent. AFRICANS WERE FED UP OF BEING DISCRIMINATED ON THEIR OWN LAND.

I am a "Mzungu" :) (a white man slang term in swahili) and I am married to a Kenyan wife (Sarah Irara) from Kikuyu tribe (Who happens to be a Gospel recording artist in Kenya). I live in St. Louis, MO in USA, and a good population of Kikuyu live here. I have become accustomed to chipati, ugali Nyama choma, Kenyan stews, goat, etc. (I also love authentic African cuisine from around the continent). I think African Cuisine is one of the most under-rated in the world, and their common "street food" versions are gourmet quality in my opinion. Thank you for introducing us to various cultures around the world. If you come to St. Louis, I could map out for you an amazing and unique food tour experience as well. Your videos are inspiring and your kindness and friendliness truly shine in your videos.

I can't think of anybody in this world who would be worthy of continuing the great legacy left by Anthony Bourdain. I could wish that someday one of those big networks would take you in consideration for that type of job, but the reality is that you are a unique traveler, and the content you provide is as unique and 'organic', very spontaneous and carefully selected. You are just an amazing vlogger and no big network or company can match that freedom and creativity you put in every single one of your videos. Thank you for letting all of us see the world (and its food!) thru your eyes Mark ❤️

Hey Mark. I have noticed from the comments, many people from India seem to be surprised and interested in the Indian connection in Kenya. Maybe you should get a Kenyan Indian to make some "koroga" or east African Indian food. I know they have a different twist from what was left in India. Or maybe even a Kenya "cowboy" take on food. Thank you

Note: country chicken is too costly in India RS.1000 to RS.1200 a rooster.

Going so deep in Africa and blending in so naturally with them really shows how great a person u r as always... Africa series also show us how fortunate we actually are with what we have and sometimes happiness cant buy with moolah. And also showing is how natural n easy life can be... Fresh n free range meats are the best flavours. In order to enjoy n taste the freshness its best to keep the cooking process simple as it is.. Nice one.

I love T TOT, some of the waiters have been there since before I was born (I'm 31), and they as they are super friendly, polite and very efficient. My father used to chat with them like they are brothers. I can't wait to see the rest of your adventures.
