Rabrani is a populated place in the municipality of Neum, with the only mosque in this municipality.
The greatest researcher of Bosniak Herzegovina heritage, collector of historical and manuscript materials, archivist, historian and polyglot Hivzija Hasandedić wrote that there is a mosque in Rabrane which is thought to have been built immediately after the Austro-Hungarian occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1878.
It is the endowment of Tucaković, who were the only ones who lived in this place. Smajo Tucaković donated the house to the foundation and the mosque was built on that site. It was demolished in 1942 and rebuilt in 1962. During the "joint criminal enterprise" and "international armed conflict", as confirmed by the Hague Tribunal, it was demolished in 1993! During the campaign of "inspectors" of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO) and the so-called Herceg-Bosnia. Together with a total of 80 others that were demolished in the territory controlled by the HVO (in Mostar, Stolac, Čapljina and, here, Neum alone, the HVO demolished 40 mosques!).
The Tucakovića mosque was last renovated in 2001. A shorter ceremony was also organized on that occasion. At that time, 14 houses of displaced Bosniaks were also rebuilt.
On July 22, 2023, after the completion of the remaining works on and around the mosque, and above all the beautiful minaret, the mosque was officially opened in the presence of many believers.
