I wish they could have got to shop something each, and then there could be another video when the item arrived.
@theinvisibleneonrainbowzeb2567
that is actually a good idea. Like they each maybe choose and search something they know, and maybe also browse in things they haven't seen before or something and choose an item that takes their attention, that could make one part, and then when the package arrives the unboxing and inspection etc. I know many of us viewers have seen unboxing videos before, or know they exist, and most of us have ordered something online, but for the crew this would be a new experience. It would be great to see Guddu, Sarru and (I think) Raju? (Forgive me please if I have muddled his name or anyone elses) like in this video, and them maybe have a separate one with the ladies we've seen recently.

In the old days in Canada, people living in remote areas would browse a Sears catalog (made of paper!), and then fill their order forms. They would then receive their order at the local reception center (sometimes just a locker in the general store, or behind the counter at the post office). This is not too different from what we're doing today on Amazon. Sometimes the delays are comparable. The big difference is having access to more products.
@suomenpresidentti

That was fun. I had to laugh when cow dung cakes were one of the first inquired items. I recall many years ago, I was introducing my mom to the internet. I informed her, we could look up most any bit of information one could possibly ask. She stumped me and the internet right off the bat with "What is my sister Gloria's favorite color?"

I will say that both Amazon and Walmart delivery services in the USA are a huge help for people like me that have disabilities and have difficulty getting back and forth to the store. While I spend a little extra every month for my memberships both to get free delivery and other benefits ($16 combined with discounts) it is worth it to be able to sit at my computer and do all my grocery shopping at 10pm and have it show up at my door the next morning. In the past I would have to try an navigate the public transit system to get to the nearest grocery store and then be limited in what I could buy because I could only carry a small amount of things. This forced me to make this trip much more often and I ate less healthy because I could not buy a full range of groceries. Now I don't have to worry and get everything I want and need from fresh produce to heavy items at no extra cost (I do happily tip my delivery person though). I even do my clothes shopping with these services as they offer free return shipping on items that don't fit making it worry free that you may buy something that turns out to be the wrong size.
@monicapdx
@monicapdx Год назад
Hear, hear! Disabled here, too, and not only would I get exhausted shopping for groceries, I had to take a cab to the store and back, and give a big tip for the drivers having to lug my bags up a flight of stairs. Amazon didn't have Fresh yet, and local stores didn't deliver. Now I use Safeway for food - a little expensive, but worth it - and I've got an extra $30-35 a month, which is a lot, on my budget. I get almost everything else from Amazon. I'd be in dire straits without it. I hated shopping for things before Amazon. I sure wasn't driving around to local shops, because I had no car...and even in a city with an excellent transit system, if it takes you 2 hours to travel, transfer, and walk somewhere, plus shopping time, forget that.(For those sputtering, disabled, remember? No walking that much.) So local shops aren't going under from lack of my patronage, that's for sure. If nothing else, it was slow and clunky, but there was mail order long before Amazon.
@socket_error1000
@socket_error1000 Год назад
@@monicapdx It is a huge convenience. I never tried Safeway or any of the other grocers because Walmart had a membership ($70/y) for free delivery and generally lower prices and a wider selection of goods you could get delivered along with groceries. Plus at the time I started using these services Walmart took EBT and Safeway wasn't set up for it yet. I think there is a big myth about the loss of mom and pop stores due to online marketplaces like Amazon because most items sold on Amazon are by small sellers who now have an international marketplace instead of just a local market. People often think Amazon sells just their own products. The truth is they are mostly a consignment online storefront for other sellers. Last count I saw there were over 1.5 million active independent sellers on the site with over 6 million registered sellers. Facilitating a massive one stop shopping experience for consumers. The only thing I hate about Amazon is that I didn't think of it first, lol.
@dianeladico1769

So true. Many complain about how it's harming local businesses but it has its place for many reasons.
@shampoovta

I use Amazon’s cart a lot when I am planning a project. I am not buying stuff I just find everything I would need for my project and put them in the shopping cart and this gives me an idea of what I am looking for. Then I look in local shops to see if I can find the items cheaper. Then I delete from the shipping cart all the items I find and only buy the ones I couldn’t. I also use the cart as a look book for clothing then I go to thrift stores and put together similar looks for my clothing. Sometimes I just search for fun to see what crazy things are out there. Like just pick a noun any noun and put it in the search. Then begin the digging and see where it takes me. You don’t have to buy stuff to have fun with Amazon. Hay and sometimes stuff you do order may get lost. Don’t fret I always contacted the seller and got another one or a refund. Oh and any business can be represented on Amazon or EBay or Etsy. So anyone can sell products on line from anywhere. Like there could be a Villagers monthly subscription box. I even think there are businesses that will make the subscription box 📦 for whoever wants to sell them.

If I think back at the first time that Sarru appeared on this channel. Nice to see how he evolved into a confident young man. Same for Raju. His first appearance, a long time ago, was not favourable. He was uninterested, and did not seem to see any value in trying strange things. He did not return as a regular. Until later, where he 'got it' what the channel was trying to do. No he is a great member of this group, singing and all. Guddu also changed over time; fist reserved and shy, now funny and eager to take new things in.

Fitting to the season I'd love to see them react to a traditional European christmas market. Just today I came across a very nice video of German christmas markets from last year, still affected by covid though, but very beautiful images and solid explanations. It's on the channel DW Travel, titled What to do at a German Christmas Market. I'm sure they'd enjoy some festivity impressions from another part of the world.

Things are also regional. Most people in India don't have basic appliances or plumbing. The shoes over there on Amazon started at 299 INR = $3.61 US = $3.41 Euro. Most of the shoes were below 1,000 INR / $12. For those prices I'd gladly take a 10 day return policy. Here in the US I would struggle to buy just the laces for under $5 on Amazon. Most small shops there won't even give a receipt and you're sold out of luck the minute you buy it. Bringing it fully up to western standards will result in these things going up in price and no longer obtainable for the masses. They also offer different services. Amazon India allows for cash on delivery where you pay the delivery driver for the items you get online.
