Something like sewage overflow, garbage everywhere was unheard and unseen till recent years. Foreign travellers some thirty years back visiting ladakh were astonished to see the level of hygiene we practiced. Our dry toilet system was practised by the Egyptian civilization. We had unimaginable water resources. The underground water was not touched. The good snowfall in winters met all the water requirement drinking as well as irrigation. All water sources spring, small streams and the river were considered sacred and never dirty Children were taught not to litter and defecate in open. Now Ladakhis are as responsible for the filth and garbage around than the outsiders. All children eating chips, and ice cream throw their wrappers around.
It is not only in spituk area..but also in TR camp also the smell of the sewage are very un tolerable n during early morning n also during day time please kindly help to get rid of this problem...thanks.

This sewage system will fail mesarably in the coming days, and Spituk will turn into a place like places on the bank of Yamuna River in Delhi. The day is not far, the place has already started to sting like Delhi.
You must be an employee from Urban department. We know how much funds have been given by UT ladakh to Urban department, also funds from Environmental fund. Where did all that money go? Trying divert the attention here.
