It's fun to watch people experience these awesome classics for the first time! Please tell them that this movie gets even better after you see it a few times! I noticed several scenes where they didn't quite understand what was going on. Such as the fact that the Predator is hunting for sport and that's why he fought Dutch at the end without armor or weapons. To make the battle equal. And he didn't kill the girl because she was unarmed. (No sport). And he was studying Dutch's face to see if he was a different species from other humans. Lol There are many subtle things to find and enjoy in this movie as you watch it more times! 😊😊
@brewman6218

The Predator collects skulls as trophies, and it was admiring Dutch's skull before fighting him to the death hand to hand. The Predator saw his skull as a glorious prize because Dutch was such a strong prey.

Also I think he takes different trophies depending on how dangerous they were. With most people he just took their skin but when they came after the predator he took their skulls and when Billy faced him 1 on 1 with a knife he took his skull and spine. Little details like that make this movie so great.

Schwarzenegger parleyed his movie and bodybuilding fame into a career in politics and eventually became Governor of California. If he had been born in the US, I think he might have become President, but he wasn't eligible since he was born in Austria in Europe. The man who played the soldier who chewed so much tobacco, Jesse Ventura, a former professional wrestler, also turned his fame into a political career and became the Governor of the northern Midwest state of Minnesota.

The John Wick series has been solid. The Raid films as well. And The Guest is a personal modern favorite of mine. There are still truly good action movies but they're few and far between-but that was the same back then. People just forget all the crap that came out in the 80's because we remember Terminator, Die Hard, Predator, Aliens. But that's like 4 movies for a decade's worth of films.

With time passed by, there was a lot more background added to the Predator race. You can see them as interplanetary bounty hunters and they can live up to several hundred years. The older they get and the more prey they hunt, the higher is their rank in their society. But they have a strict codex of honor. They only kill worthy prey. Which means: Unarmed or sick people are not worthy to be hunted, except for self defense. That's why the Predator didn't hunt the girl. Dutch and his group on the other hand would've been a fine addition to the collection of this Predator. Also: As seen at the end of the movie, they never leave traces of themself. If a Predator dies, he will self destruct and wiping out every evidence of himself.

in the sequel and the other franchise the predator although a merciless killing creature does show compassion and empathy, in two situations he's about to kill a woman till he scan her womb she was pregnant so he spared her life the other was an older man with a weak heart, he spared him too. its later revail they are a warrior race designed to hunt and test their both physical and mental limits killing a pregnant woman or someone with a disability theirs no honour in killing them.

The Yautja (Predators or Hish) live by a code of conduct in that One cannot kill that which can/is about to give life (any female that is with child, animals included) No killing of the unarmed No killing of young (human children namely so far) No killing of the sickly (exception was in Alien vs Predator when a sick human fought back) However, IF a human manages to defeat one (like now) they’ll either activate the self destruct on their left gauntlet to preserve their honor in their death in battle, or killing one (Predator 2) will place the human high in favor with their race and clan and gain a large amount of respect. Or if you fight along side one (AVP) and they either live or die, the same will happen.
