This is the favorite song of my niece (6 years old) and nephew (3 years old) when they go to school by car. They sit in the back and sing it over and over even if they are from Spain and don't understand a word of the lyrics. It is the cutest thing you could see.
Magic. :) I just heard this song the radio. What does he mean "I'll be your fever"? I think of Maura who works in a supermarket where I go grocery shopping every week. I'm 63. I will read The Villagers' wiki. Peter Nolan.(Ph.D., experimental physics). Dublin. Ireland.
Hello Patricia, I guess the word fever has more than one meaning me thinking about an infection and feeling sick. The word may have a new meaning nowadays. This is what the dictionary on my Mac Mini says: fever |ˈfiːvə| noun an abnormally high body temperature, usually accompanied by shivering, headache, and in severe instances, delirium: she had a slight fever | [ mass noun ] : quinine was used to reduce malarial fever. • a state of nervous excitement or agitation: I was mystified, and in a fever of expectation. • [ mass noun ] [ with modifier ] the excitement felt by a group of people about a particular public event: election fever reaches its climax tomorrow. verb [ with obj. ] archaic bring about a high body temperature or a state of nervous excitement in: a heart which sin has fevered. ORIGIN Old English fēfor, from Latin febris; reinforced in Middle English by Old French fievre, also from debris . I think I might prefer to avoid feeling feverish for any reason however. If I really knew what was going on and what I was doing in a fever and all concerned knew that too then maybe it might be, to use a word I do not like, - fun. Who knows maybe some day I will enjoy being in a fever with a woman. Many thanks, Peter Nolan. Ph.D.(physics). Dublin. Ireland
Hello Patricia, The Villagers is an Irish band: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villagers_(band) and I must have heard this song on Irish radio many times. Peter Nolan. Ph.D.(physics). Dublin. Ireland
Hi Peter, an intelligent response, love it! I'm environmentally health food and infectious diseases. The only thing I don't like is his beard., ha ha. My closest friend comes from Buncranna but lives in Tipperary. Have a fab day.
Do what you did yesterday, go on repeating 'Cause my heart's only on fire when you are the teacher You take the torch and I follow the leader You'd be my master and I'll be your fever You told me your past was taken by thieves Since then you've been running in search of reliefs You don't know when it's coming, I don't know either You'd be my master and I'll be your fever The angels are singing, words written for you Trumpets are telling of your beauty and truth But you've been working it out for yourself like some overachiever So just be my master and I'll be your fever But you knew this is all I need, no more or no less Your highness I bow to thee and to thee this I confess I was lost in a forest but now I'm a believer So you'd be my master and I'll be your fever So do what you did yesterday go on repeating 'Cause my heart's only on fire when you are the teacher You take the torch and I follow the leader You'd be my master and I'll be your fever You'd be my master and I'll be your fever You'd be my master and I'll be your fever
This is gorgeous! I love Villagers, and regret not being able to see them last December due to being snowbound in the west of Ireland. I have the ticket pinned to my wall, where it will remain.
Been loving this song and trying to learn it on guitar. Found some chords online but does anyone have a strumming / picking pattern for it? I tried to work it out from the song but I don't have a very good ear for it. Thanks!
@lucadepu I'm not challenging you or wanting to start any bad vibes here but Lucadepu, please show us a link to your fave artists song. Would be interesting to make the comparison and help fans understand why u think so. Reveal the space between us. Peace. M
