I love that they go from "she should get married" to being upset that nobody was listening to her. And saying that if a woman thinks her man is competent to run the household she shouldn't hold back.
The worth of even two people watching a movie and judging it fairly while partaking in truly civilized conversation with each other just cannot be put into words...
And without knowing any context or culture, or even knowing what the movie might be about. It's so delightful. In the West everyone is already at least ruined by trailers if not by media before having seen the movie.
I just love how occasionally Raeen thinks he's about to watch a dud of a movie and you see him getting impatient but then the movie surprises him and he's utterly drawn in.
An interesting side not is when the villain (can’t recall his name) realized Mulan was the one who killed his army he addressed her “the soldier from the mountains” not as a woman. He saw her as a warrior, not a woman. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think in Mongol culture women have a bigger role than China (where even today they’re viewed poorly). I think in Mongolian culture women could even hold land and positions of power. The best example I can think of is Khutulun, who was a real ass kicker in the wrestling ring
Yes Mongol women occasionally participated in war and had more political influence. But in this case I think the Mongol leader simply was competent unlike everyone else.
Genghis Khan was known for training his daughters in ruling and combat, then "marrying" them off. I say marrying in quotes, because as a condition to marry, the groom had to serve in the front lines. Once dead, his daughters would become rulers of certain clans. While they were loyal to their father, they were well trained on how to be leaders "queens" in their own right, and their children, without a father, would eventually rule the clans but loyal to their grandfather
In all the movies we've seen Raeen watch and react to, I've never seen him so involved and intrigued like he is now. 😊 I wish Babu was here too. How is Badshah doing? We haven't seen him in awhile but my prayers go out to him. Can we get Badshah back to enjoy these moments? If not, please let him know he's not forgotten. He's just as important as the rest and we truly do miss him.
I think it's because the movie shows how ancient China looked like. Raeen is very interested in cultures. That's why I recommend him to watch more Disney cartoon movies that show cultures/history like Hercules and Pocahontas.
As usual, Raeen was interested in the cultural aspect so I recommend him more Disney cartoon movies that show cultures like Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules.
Honestly, as much as I love how sassy Mulan's grandma is, my favorite part of the movie is Yao roasting Chi-Fu in the song "A Girl Worth Fighting For". Chi-Fu: I've a girl back home who's unlike any other Yao: Yeah, the only girl who'd love him is his mother Just the look on his face ALONE is priceless.
Back then our local cinema held movie festivals where everyone could watch one movie for free, but they wouldn't see which movie you got to see. So back then they surprised us with Mulan. I think I was 7 or 8. That cavalry charge scene was amazing on a big screen.
I've always thought Mulan is the high water mark of Disney animation. Both for its story and its art style. That run of movies from The Little Mermaid through to Mulan really hasn't been topped since.
Extend it up to 2002. Then you get Fantasia 2000 (1999) The Emperor's New Groove (2000) Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) Lilo & Stitch (2002) Treasure Planet (2002) Included as well.
I imagine it has more to do with availability/scheduling than anything, but it would be great if they could show the movie to Ruby again the next time she's available!
I don't think Inside Out has a Hindi dub. And if it has, then Disney+ Hotstar is a waste of money and time, for they don't even do important things like that.
It makes my heart beat, to have acknowledged not only the sanctity of the place women hold in home and raising children, but also that they are as capable as any man in their own ways to defend their loved ones and their country. We all have roles we must play at times ❤️
Mulan is my favorite Disney movie of all time, the animated version at least. It was nice to be shown that you don't have to fit the mold to succeed and become great.
Great reaction video! Could you do a reaction to The Hunchback of Notre Dame one of these days?! It’s definitely one of Disneys darkest films but is so underrated in my opinion. Very important themes that are very well executed❤️
A great 2D animated movie! A classic far far better than the live action remake. Happy to see it Love to see it. Need some more of these, I'm still hoping for The Fox and The Hound(1981) + The Land Before Time(1988) Also I miss having Badshah around his opinions and reactions were always excellent.
I would love it if they watched Coco, thst is a great movie, and would be a great way to teach them about the Day of the Dead and more Mexican culture. And YES, please, Prince Of Egypt.
This. This right here is how you write a strong female lead. Everybody loves this movie for several different reasons, all of which are good ones. The argument that men are intimidated by strong, independent women is completely bupkis. She had to train and face her trials right along with her fellow soldiers. Nothing was ever given to her; she had to earn it - and earned it, she did.
Yeah, and all men accept that without offering any difference of opinion, that's why Andrew Tate has such a big following. I don't know what fantasy Disney planet you're living on, but it isn't this one.
Loved this! 💯💜 Please react to these movies Hidden Figures Harriet (2019) Akeelah and The Bee Remember The Titans Sister Act and Sister Act 2 Barbershop 1 Beyond The Lights Shaft (2019) Crooklyn Emergency (Amazon Prime) The Hate U Give Malcom X (1992) The Best of Enemies B.A.P.S. (1997) Are we there yet? Johnson Family Vacation
That'd be great but I think that somehow Ghibli is even more aggressive with copyright than Disney is. You can hardly find any clips anywhere. It IS possible, I've seen other people do it (like Therapist Reacts) but it probably takes a lot of editing to make sure it can slip past auto-copyright detection.
Nooooo, the live-action Mulan is trash. Mulan goes from being a hard-working girl who only wanted to save her father in the animated movie to Chinese Rey Palpatine in the live action movie.
