Picturesque Villages in Dorset, including Shaftesbury, a small Saxon hilltop town in North Dorset, is most famous for its iconic image of Gold Hill. Standing 700 feet above sea level, it was over these famous cobbles that a boy pushed his bicycle (with a loaf of Hovis in the front basket) in the iconic television advert of 1973.

Watching the places of Dorset from India has given me immense pleasure even though it is certain that I cannot visit during my life time. I have started liking the place because of kids mayor. This is beautiful - I stayed in Dorset on holiday lots of times at The Sefton Hotel (it is now a block of flats). I often wonder where Mr Elliott (the hotel owner) is now.
