Amazing content MaxaMillian! :) Peak Vince Carter was a top 5 player in 00/01 & definitely NBA's best offensive player. People have to remember that Vince played in a much tougher defensive environment compared to the current NBA. I mean, things like hand-checking still existed. - #2 in PER - #1 in OBPM - #2 in BPM - #3 in VORP - #3 in OWS - #5 in WS. Obviously these numbers are all 100% box-score derived and are hardly gospel, but he was an extremely efficient player due to a ridiculously low turnover rate. His 8.2% TOV rate was the 3rd lowest in the ENTIRE NBA & strong scoring efficiency (55.1% TS against a league average of 51.8%). His +3.3 rTS would be equivalent to a 59.3 TS today (except he'd be taking more threes so that's probably understating things). He had a 114 ORTG against a league average of 103 (+11). His impact metrics are quite excellent, too. +11.6 on/off, and #12 in the league in RAPM (with many of the guys ahead of him either playing far few minutes, playing a much smaller role, or both) Good passer. Decent defender. Incredible scorer. Shot 41% from three on five attempts a game before it was cool. Godly Jordan-eqsue ability to take of the ball. Put him in a league with no hand-checking and much better spacing and he's only going to look better. Peak Vince is easily a top5ish player in today's NBA.
Sadly, Vince lost a lot of drive and hunger to be the best after that season, including injuries of course. I think he was better suited to become the next MJ than Kobe, if he had kept improving after 2001.
This was the year that the world respected him for more than just a dunker. He was unstoppable this season and with the ball in his hands ALOT was 3rd lowest in turn overs this year. There wasnt a place he wouldn't flame you from
And he is still in nba for the 22nd year. Unreal 👌👌👌 I’m so happy for him. Good job Maxamillion and thank you for creating this collection of highlights 👍🏻
@@abuhassan8849 Many people believe overall he was a better player and more mature as a Nets. But for me, 99-02 was my favorite VC time. VC had 10 fantastic years as a League Superstar. He could go for 4 more years of that but he decided to be a role player.
@@javadh417 Vince would've been out from NBA if he was acting like Carmelo Anthony. Vince's transition from a superstar to a great role player in 2010s decade has been incredible to watch.
@@abuhassan8849 I am a huge fan of him and I've followed him, game by game since 01. He is a very skilled BBall player, fantastic shooter and athletically, freak of nature. 3 years ago his measured vertical leap was among the highest in the league. For me, he transitioned too soon from a star to role player. He did not want to take the lead and take all the responsibility of a team and being on the pressure all the time. in 01, he was as good as Kobe, offensively. But he lost that champion mentality at the end of his Nets era. In Orlando, he played his worst game ever. He was healthy and in very good shape but he just shoot 3s. Max is going to upload his Magic plays soon he rarely attacked the basket. Those team needed him very badly but he did not deliver. He could easily be an all-star player until 2012.
On the day of his last ever game I am going to watch these videos in order while wearing a Raptors 1999 throwback with a face covered in tears. Thank you for everything. I mean that. This is and always will be my favourite RU-vid channel ever 💜
This end with these 3pts is amazing.. I remember that in 2001 Playoffs vs 76ers and Iverson was MVP ..this series was great duel Iverson vs Carter.. both scored for 50pts WOW and Raptors so close to the next round..Vince miss last shot..
Great work. 2002 was also a solid Raptors year for Vince..Too bad he got injured before the playoffs...Also expecting 05-07 offense highlights to be fairly epic. We don't deserve you Max. Thanks for the highlights.
To be fair, Raptors had multiple injuries on their squad & not only just Vince. Which is the biggest reason why they became a lotttery team ahead of NBA Draft 2003. It's a shame on Raptors missing out Dwyane Wade instead of Chris Bosh...
After watching this video I was going to hit the like button, but I couldn't..........because I forgot I already hit the like button at the start! *facepalm Brilliant work as usual Max!
T-Mac was never offered a max-contract by Raptors (Orlando Magic gave him that). T-Mac was also a bench player since the coach had little faith in him.
@@abuhassan8849 that's not true they both were starting the year he was there . Vince just blew up and tmac hadn't yet. Had he stayed they easily make the finals this year
@@MaxaMillion711 I remember whe Vince was getting sick of being branded a dunker in Toronto so told the media he doesn’t want to dunk anymore. Although Vince still ended up dunking in the very next game after that statement lol.
He did a lot jordan didn't so please make this the last you compare them & instead say something like you never that many circus moves or they were the most that year elsewhere it ain't even a compliment

If tmac would have stayed this season I think they not only walk to the finals but MAYBE give la a run for their money . Even kobe said back in 2006 that if vince and tmac stuck together they would have beaten them a couple times he thinks
