Former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo makes a big statement in this edition of The Wrestling Outlaws, also featuring NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 and Dr. Chris Featherstone. He is of the opinion that Shane McMahon potentially wants to purchase AEW on behalf of his father. This is because very few people would want to do business with Vince McMahon, feels Russo, considering his current legal standing.

The only way I see it happening is if Tony Khan is trying to pour cold water on the rumors to keep it a surprise. And I definitely don’t think Shane (or Vince) are trying to get any sort of ownership in AEW. But Shane McMahon would absolutely provide help to AEW as an on screen character. Especially as an on screen authority figure. If Tony Khan wanted to turn a creative page and shift into a new era in AEW, what better way than having a member of the McMahon family show up on Dynamite and be the new “kayfabe” owner of the company?

If Shane bought AEW, with his knowledge about the business and his Pops behind the seen booking… within 1 yr they would be selling out arenas and in direct competition with the WWE. AEW barely sells out half the arenas they’re in and current booking in AEW is on the downward slide.

If it was strictly about putting on excellent matches and keeping it about wrestling less entertainment, they wouldn’t make any money to sustain itself. So it just like WWE & TNA a circus act to entertain!!! And when you can’t entertain on a TV National and International level you loose money and eventually close or get bought out. ie Jim Crockett Promotions NWA, WCW…

Always thought growing up watching (WHEN IT WAS WATCHABLE; 1997-2005), that Shane McMahon would take the reigns and be that Mr McMahon chatacter. Then as I stopped it looked lik Triple H was and then he had that heart incident. Shane to aew would be the biggest thing since he showed up on Nitro, But BIGGER because it would be REAL.

If there are insider moles within the AEW company that are still loyal to Vince and Shane, they can get the inside track on getting the Kahns to possibly sell aew not definitely. But Tony is too paranoid to fall for it. If he sees that Shane is wanting to go to him to help in the aew creative, he might think it's a setup😂

This is the most ridiculous conspiracy I've ever heard. There is no chance in hell that Vince McMahon will be buying off AEW. 1. Tony Khan with his father combined have enough money to play around, and they don't need Vince McMahon to save their company. 2. Vince is closer to his grave than he would ever be able to find any closure against triple H. I mean, come on, the dude is already old and covered with his own mess to deal with for at least the next 20 years, that there is no guarantee he'll even make it alive before it ends. 3. In no way, shape, or form will Tony Khan sell his creation to the man that AEW was originally founded against in the first place. I don't care how low their ratings will go, Tony Khan is not selling his company to a McMahon.

Normaly i wouldn't agree with Russo. But Vince is pissed he is not gonna roll over and die thats the least Vince thing to do. He has always done what ever he had to do to crush the competition. AEW has the talent they can't tell a story with TK in charge. Shane controlling creative with Vince consulting. Will turn into the company that competes with WWE who is now Vince's enemy who he wants to crush he feels screwed over. He wants revenge. Revenge is taking the new company and beating them. Triple H if he leaves WWE and isn't pulling the strings. Rolls reverse his family is where it makes no sense to stay in the other company. He has no choice but to jump. If they get the game to jump WWE will struggle.

Do i think Vince is helping Shane? No. Vince is a dumbass. A lot of fathers are. He played favorites. Vince put all his time and all of his energy into Stephanie who's never worked for anybody but Vince in her life. If Shane wants to get there and can get there on his own or with backers hell yeah. Vince will never be that backer though cause he put his faith in her and she ruined Vince on a whim. Vince saw no value in Shane who tried and succeeded in following in Vince's footsteps wring crew, merchandising, warehouse manager and all that. Stephanie had 1 small job and poof Head of Creative with no prior management experience or having ever been on the creative staff a day in her life. Shane's been other places and done other things. It ain't, this is more about television rights if you ask me. Potentially the McMahons looking to get a channel for a future promotion. Shane is actually super smart and has wanted to be a promoter for years, he wanted to buy a struggling UFC, he wanted to pioneer a streaming show in 06 with ECW.

Lots of opinions! Awesome speculation guys...I think Shane might wish to participate in the running of AEW, In spite of his father, not for or with him-it would make him crazy. But- to have something Vince doesn't...a wrestling company/good reputation and his dad might finally respect. Not that Vince could, but children of Narcissistic parents always seek the validation they are never capable of getting but clearly Shane has learned to get away and become his own man. Vince is not capable of those traits, sadly.

I don’t think Shane would have enough money to buy AEW, unless he borrowed some of his fathers money. Shane could buy TNA though But I hope and I really really would love for Shane to be in charge of AEW creative. It’s just Tony has a control freak issue himself and I can’t see Tony giving power to someone that’s not himself or The Bucks, Omega or Jericho. The only people Tony trusts are himself, The Bucks, Omega and Jericho. But Tony is a mark fan that doesn’t care about business, all Tony cares about is that he has a wrestling promotion which he’s always dreamed of having and for that promotion to be a Utopia for wrestling matches.

No all is definitely not well between shane and triple h/ stephanie. Triple h said that if shane comes back to wwe he will leave wwe for good and not to forget abt his not so good relationship with his sister. Now with vkm dont know abt their relationship much. If this is true then the only explaination i can think of is him finaly alligning with shane only to get back at hhh and stephanie. Remember the saying enemy of my enemy is my friend thats wat it might be between them now. Its mostly a revenge motive i think maybe.

No no no no. I'm only here because I recently went on a Val Venis binge on his matches with Kaientai (Choppy Choppy Ur Pee Pee. Ha ha ha) so I'm an old school Attitude Era 90's wrestling fan... and we ALL KNOW that the quality of the product went DOWN when Vinnie Mac bought out WCW and ECW. Monopolies are Industry-killers. The McMahon's need to STOP trying to dominate the Wrestling industry. The overall product will be infinitely better.
