Being aged 88, I'm one of those people that helped build back Britain after WW11. Left school at 15, worked hard at a manual job until joining the army at 18. I did 3 years military service, then returning to my previous job until I retired at 65. Now in my twilight years, I'm treated worse than someone who has recently landed on our shores. At the very least, they will be nice and warm in their 4-star hotels, kindly paid for by us, the taxpayers. Nice to know that your efforts have been appreciated.............

Sadly we can’t turn the clock back and undo everything people of our age have done, in hindsight I would have emigrated myself and got out of this God-forsaken country. I worked 49 years Alan, paid into the system and saved for my old age. I would be better off if I hadn't bothered. I wouldn't have much if anything in savings but I wouldn't need them I could claim Pension credit and have an income in excess of the tax allowance and it would be tax free

They haven’t the sense they are born with! I am 81 years of age and now live alone but just cannot understand their logic. I have been into the city centre today from a village about 8 miles away. There is talk about withdrawing the free bus pass for pensioners. Mark my words - all town and city centres are ‘dying on their feet’ so such an idea will finish it completely. So much for paying into the system for half a century and then allowing thousands of illegal immigrants to cross the Channel and then provide accommodation at the tax payer expense. Our PM is totally heartless!

The pensioners use the bus to shop for food and clothing. Is this another way to punish them because they are living too long , they won’t be able to carry heavy bags and taxi too expensive. They will starve as well as freeze. A lot of young working citizens use the on line supermarkets delivering service , it’s so busy for slots and many pensioners cannot navigate the internet to do so. TO CAUSE HARM OR DEATH BY DEPRIVING CITIZENS OF BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS LIKE FOOD AND SHELTER IS NOT ONLY ILLEGAL ITS ALSO IMMORAL.

At the end of the tax year, the growth, that those investments have earned, is taxed at source. And then, when they are paid to the person, they are taxed again.

If you get your State Pension and it is say £11, 200, and the tax level before you pay tax is £12,550 you won't pay tax on it unless you have a job your wage would be included in the £12,500 and will be taxed if it is above that level😮

The flaw of course is that retirees simply won't take the lump sum beyond a fairly low tax free level. Like revenue non-doms won't be there. VAT from private schools won't be there. Rich tax payers leaving. Even if she cooks the books. Her hate and envy policies have come home to roost.
