@@Watsudait’s from an old sex ed tape that for some reason used Mario characters, if you search “Mario sex ed tape” you should be able to find it pretty easily
I've learned how to say "hello mario" in the same voice as vinny because of this and I just randomly say it. If people get the reference, cool.. Most people don't so, I still randomly saying it lmao
this has a lot less views then i expected. jokes a side, another hidden gem creator added to my list. i hope you make more vinesauce content in the future.
This game may not have been what I wanted, but it was still a cute and charming game. Olivia was hilarious and really charming. The writers did good work with what they were given. This game definitely will be something I replay in the near future.
Origami King may not be the game people wanted, but it was still a decent game. Can we also appreciate how this game almost seems suspiciously written with Vinny's stupid voices in mind?
I still find it kind of tonally weird that Mario and Olivia get very upset over Bobby's death, and then at the end of the game, Mario participates in a minigame where he uses the living Bob-Ombs as ammo in order to defeat some origami. They say nothing to Bowser about it, nobody has problems with him suicide bombing his henchmen. The game really has nothing to say about it in the end
its definitely weird but... olivia thinking bobby came back from the dead and the bob-omb repeating "we all just want to make an impact" legit made me tear up.
The entire finale sequence I was just waiting for Bowser to become the final boss, but I’m so glad that they didn’t fall into that trope again. Now that the Mario & Luigi series has died, we can hope that Miyamoto’s “we only want one RPG line” argument will die with it, and we can see the Pap Maria series continue in this great direction
The bit about Wendys_Official coming into chat, talking gamer lingo and then paying Vinny off Basically happened with Taco Bell and Northernlion. They came in and gifted 100 gift subs and, apparently, it did help their image in that community. NL even seemed more hesitant to bad mouth them for a time.
This one turned out to be one of my most favorite Paper Mario games out there. Just watching, if i wasnt busy with other games, makes me want to replay it, or atleast find the rest of the collectables. Since Vinny was talking about Lego Mario, now I want a lego Bowser Jr and his Clown Car
I think Origami King is one of the better Paper Mario games but comes up short of the big 3. My main complaint for Origami King is that the villains of the game are pretty flat and forgettable. One thing about SPM is that all the henchmen were memorable and had reasons for doing what they did. They reestablished their reasons throughout the whole game, whereas the villains in Origami King were practically one off. Not even the main villain got to establish himself sufficiently.
honestly, king olly is one of my least favorites in the series. i wish they fleshed his character a little more, he'd probably be up there with grodus at least if they did so.
@@maxisnotwell8164 King Olly is a metaphor for Nintendo because the e-shop description for TOK states that he sent Peach's castle a crease and desist someone probably got fired for that but their sacrifice won't be in vain
I gotta say, this is an extremely good compilation. Good choice of streams, and thanks for making it! It's something I'll definitely be rewatching a lot.
Some parts of this game are just so good...which is why it's so frustrating to see developers be so obviously clotheslined by an executive decision every time an idea picks up traction. Hopefully the restrictions are lifted for the next entry.
No one is ever truly gone They are only really gone if they are forgotten For someone who's lost a very close family member She stays alive from memories and random thoughts about her Never forget family, they make you who you are right now
i remember beginning to watch this series after i had already finished the game but i never finished watching it... time to watch a three and a half hour video to catch up
[Spoilers about that ending!] Keep in mind, all those cranes are folded Toads. After Olivia made her wish, those cranes disappeared into the air. That means... King Olly must be the villain with the most kills in any Mario game, with a total of 999 Toads dead + who knows how many Bowser minions!
If they balanced a few combat mechanics, made confetti and coins hard to come by and brought back the XP system then the combat would've been awesome. Everything else except the character restriction thing, is just like you said Golden. Just absolute awesomeness.
Maybe I’d feel sad about Bobby if in the past Bob-ombs weren’t shown to explode for any reason at all and be just fine. Bobbery fought with you by exploding and it never even hurt him to do so.
SPOILER WARNING . . . . . . . . . . . . Okay, so I'm legitimately bitter about Bobby's death. In every other Paper Mario game where you can have a Bob-omb in your party, they use their explosion ability with little to no repercussions (Bombette in Paper Mario 1, Admiral Bobbery in Thousand Year Door). Why did the rules about Bob-ombs suddenly change? I felt cheated with Bobby's death, all of a sudden the rules have changed for the sake of a dramatic main character death to make the player sad. It feels artificial and played up for feels. If they'd given an in-story reason why Bobby can't explode without dying, *maybe* I could've excused it, but in this game they phrase it like this is what happens to all Bob-ombs, which, unless they retconned it out of nowhere, just isn't true. It feels like a lazy and unfair excuse for a character death that completely ignores the established in-universe rules. Bobby didn't deserve to go down this way.
Excellent points here and agreed with you through and through. It also massively deflates "a bob-ombs purpose" when near the end of the game Mario can get into a cannon and fires them off like useless bullets into the air. I like Bobby, but the execution of him here does have the artificial vibe about it just like you said. Also, please someone just give him a cool scar/hat/bandanna/anything, plz. o_0
It’s supposed to be implied that the other bomb partners are made in a way were they don’t pass away after exploding, but Bobby? He’s just a regular everyday bob-omb, only made to explode once, which we HAVE encountered before. What made Bobby special was his personality, but he was specifically made to not stand out from a regular bob-omb.
Paper mario works best as Mario Story. A game with something to tell, first game was about the people on your journey, the second is that some things are just best left as ancient history, super paper mario taught us that even those who forgot about love and try to destroy it, still have it burried down. This game I feel is trying to do what each of those games did. Not well, but it was a good game.
Assumingly every individual's wishes in Olly's throne room (final boss ending cutscene): Olivia - obviously said enough. Mario - **raises hands** (...what?) Luigi - Asked for a large pizza pasta. Bowser - MOAAAAAAARRRR POWER! (to finally defeat Mario once again) Origami Maker Toad - Hopefully to remake another great Origami Festival next year! Kamek - To make all of his decisions accurately successful. Bowser Jr. - To finally ride a Yoshi one day. Vinny - Fuck everyone. Just bring Bobby back!
Why does Dan Aykroyd always seem to be brought up when Vinny plays a Paper Mario game? First it was with Book of Mario (the Google translated ROMhack (ISOhack?) of Thousand Year Door) and now with Origami King. Lmao.
Fun fact! The company that made the Star Trek themed alcohol also made the "Nuka Cola Dark" rum Bethesda released for Fallout 76. You can imagine how well that went for them lmao
*Begining of the stream* Chad: Vinnie, i here to tell you that this game sucks even if i didn't played it and i'm very disappointed at you for playing it for your own enjoyment. *end of the stream* Vinnie: it was a good video game [Chad gained bad karma]
man i love vinny i really do but its impressive he managed to beat thsi game based on this cut painting his battle puzzle skills in the worst possible light
