Vinh Quang (VQ) DHC-2 Beaver - Update #3 - Covering the tail section...Ooops! Wrong color =O

Covering the tail section for the VQ DHC-2 Beaver. A fellow RC hobbyist recommended picking up some olive drab as the covering color and I went ahead and went with it (I'm terrible with colors anyways). Later found out that the olive drab is the US military color and this plane is more British military green...so big oops!
In the end, I just figured to forget about it and proceed with getting the tail recovered so we can get this plane in the air!
I can always recover the whole thing at a later time.

It is... Luckily it wasn't the whole plane. Overall I bet it took an hour or so to do.

It may be the wrong color you wanted but you did a heck of a job applying it. Everything looked nice and smooth. No visible warping or twisting which from what I understand is one of the biggest issues in doing covering. chalk it up as a practice run or layer other colors over it to form some sort of pattern playing that color to your advantage.

Thanks 👍... Yeah at first I was a little bit concerned over the wrong color thing, but I eventually just said "forget about it, let's do this!" type of attitude. It needs a whole recover job anyways (which I may end up going with the traditional US army green) but I just don't wanna go through that right now. I wanna try and get some air time with it first before I dive real hard core into a re-cover job. It was technically my first attempts at any covering job and even leaving the tail section still attached to the plane which is very tricky. The horizontal stab and elevator looks really good... Vertical stab and rudder is, eh, passable for now but still better than what it was. It's a plane that has some good and some bad things about it. Vin Quang is a very interesting manufacturer. Kinda 50/50 on my thoughts about them and this plane.
