Vining Plants Outside - Black Eyed Susan | Turning a Root Bound Climber into a Hanging Plant
Black Eyed Susan Vines are some of the most vigorous, flowering, vining plants outside. They are great vining plants if you are looking for climbing plants, plants for your trellis, plants for your arbor, or if you are looking for hanging plants for baskets. The great thing, since they are great vines for sun or vines for shade, and they are easy to grow, they make great patio plants for easy gardening and all around great outdoor plants. Today I’ll be repotting my root bound Black Eyed Susan and un-staking this beautiful flowering plant, changing it from a climbing plant, to a hanging plant. Of course I will cover how to grow, give you overall plant tips, and care tips for black eyed susan! Come along!

Are you covering any eye-sore's in your yard?? What is your strategy?
@runreilly

The leaves on mine are drooping and falling off. The pot is small (about six inches tall and six inches in diameter) and the plant is about two feet high. The drooping leaves on the plant are not brittle. I water it 2-3 times a week. Am I over watering?

So excited to find you and this video! The ONLY plant I have EVERY kept alive is a Black Eyed Susan because she is GORGEOUS! I got her last year and moved her into my office with me in the fall and winter. I'm kind of sad but excited to be moving her back out onto the deck this weekend! I need to transfer her to a new pot so this video is SO helpful right now!!!

I've been trying to decide on a climbing/vining plant for my balcony, and didn't realize black eyed susans came as a vine. Thanks for sharing!

I repotted mine just before watching this video, I’m having mine vine up and across our balcony, so I left the stakes in, so it continues to grow up, I’m glad I seemed to replant it similar to you! Lol

I planted a trumpet vine in the ground to climb up my pergola similar to yours. It fits the tropical vibe. It covered the whole top of the purgola and cascaded down the sides. However…it was so happy that I had to keep a close watch so it did not grow onto the roof.

Love your channel! I am starting a garden now in Texas. If you could name 3-5 plants that are great for hot weather & 3-4 days of rain per week, what would it be?

Geoffrey Setiawan oh my gosh. Where do I start? How big could they be? What style are you in to? How much sun are they going to get??? What is your zone? Lol. I’d love to help, if you are interested. You can DM me if you need more help!

Hi loving your videos. So when do you start feeding it and what month do I stop?
@rosettagrows3315
@rosettagrows3315 4 года назад
Caroline Morris Hi Caroline! In general, I feed my plants when they are growing. So when they slow down (in late fall/early winter for me) I stop. I won’t feed this one for a couple months though because there is slow release fertilizer in the soil I used, so it is good to go for right now!
