Despite Vinny's bad boy reputation on the pitch and in movies, I remember when his soulmate Tanya had tradagy died and passed away Vinny was heartbroken,he was crestfallen.not only did he lose his soulmate he lost his best friend.even the hardest men aren't afraid to cry.R.I.P.Tanya.
Had he born as a Canadian, Vinnie Jones would have been a perfect fit for a hockey enforcer or intimidating defenseman playing in the 80's and 90's. NHL used to have plenty of tough guys like him, but those days are gone.
I still have a puck from a Russian player while he played in Canada, anywhere ice hockey tops from the players can be purchased in Canada?? Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas from Scotland 🙏❤
I grew up around vinne, went to the same youth club and then the same pubs and clubs clubs in our are area, he was always crazy ,but trust me a top top man in lots of ways ,big respect for that man
I was born in '81. onw of my earliest memories is the build up to that iconic cup final between Liverpool, who were all conquering at the time, and little old Wimbledon. I remember Dave Beasants goalline antics in the penalty shootout, and this wild man called vinny Jones. I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure most young lads in England who watched that cup final will remember vinny Jones. I love the fella. Ive heard all the stories of his charity work, his community spirit, and love the way he always took the time to spend it with the disabled kids at Leeds.l and at other clubs and places he's been. He loves his wife, and his kids, and has provided for them a wonderful life. at the end of the day, when Al is said and done, it's how you treat your loved ones which truly matter. everything else is just additional benefits. vinny did his job, and that's a fine thing to say about any man.
You got beat good and proper. Stop being silly. You got smashed. Sour grapes your a bit jealous cos south London kicked your arse I was there and you got a bit of a kicking from west hams icf outside who were drinking with the palace firm
Great doc. That was as funny yet deplorable as shit! Im happy he's still very much with us as his spirit is a great one. he has shown much love and humanity and talent in his life and carrer. Vinnie Jones continues to be "Emotional"!
I watched Vinnie play well for Leeds, I think that Gordon Strachan had a lot to do with that if truth be told. But credit to Vinnie, he did improve as a player at Leeds. Sadly after he left Leeds he went back to his normal self on the pitch. Great memories though, that one season at Leeds.
Gordon strachan was unreal at Leeds and along with mac took Leeds all the way in 92 even if the king gets all the plaudits. And that's from a UTD fan (the proper UTD)😂
@@mikeryan4055 There is only one king and that is King John Charles. Yes I agree regarding Gordon Strachan, great player along with Gary Mac, Speed & Batty. Best midfield in that time.
@@pinkfloyd870 I think we both know who the True united are. I do hope Leeds beat Southampton today, would like to see both of them go up but Leeds is a game I look forward to winning so they get my shout today and if its a United double at Wembley this weekend then I'll enjoy my bank holiday even more
Met him after mark crossleys testimonial. Lock stock had just come out and he was a top lad. Had a beer with the lads and good craic... he actually had to go in goal during the match because he was getting carried away with trying to kill the opposition, Derby, which we obviously loved.
There was one time I became enlightened about Vinnie Jones when I watched a match where at the beginning before kick off he went straight to the front row where a kid in a wheel chair who was obviously a Leeds fan signed his autograph.
Still very much Loved up north in Leeds 🤍 If memory serve me rigth, he got 2 yellows in that wonderful promotion as Champions, season 89/90. Top man and a reflected dude 🔵⚪️🟡
I loved watching Vinny and John especially at St James Park. Vinny was a top player who the GEORDIES loved his attitude especially when he went into goal at the gallowgate end
Great watch. Empathise with his hard parents break up, really young, out in world confused but he achieved so much. And had what was a brilliant Afro like barnet when 17 ish lol
……I had no idea he even played soccer hahaha. I just know him as an actor, but now that I think of it, the movie EuroTrip has him playing that as a super fan lol. Now that character he plays has so much more meaning behind it for me now.
Vinnie Jones is an old school lad, the man is completely personalized in comparison to most guys today, he doesn't give a *uck if you like him or not, he does it's own thing with his own signature.
You'd want him in your team, by your side and I envy his success. I watched him on Piers Morgan and the love for his wife was plain to see. I wish he was my mate. Gotta respect the man.
Surprised it wasn't mentioned, so maybe that means it is not true? When Guy Ritchie was casting, "Lock, Stock...." he asked for a "Vinnie Jones"- like guy for the role. Producer/casting agent got The Vinnie Jones on the phone and his screen test was dynamite. He was perfect playing, "a Vinnie Jones-like bloke". I am American and had never known Vinnie Jones, as anything. Thought he was a long-time and talented character actor and perfect for the role.
I was at that United game in a packed away end. I didnt know it was Vincents debut. I cant stand Bobby Gould. Wish Bassett had taken that team to Wembley.
Loved Vinnie at Leeds would have loved him to have played in the premier League for us but he was flogged to Sheff u the year before it became the premier League. He's been very very successful as an actor and good luck to him. MOT.
Wow what a journey Vinny had... I had no idea. He played at the very top of the professional game for what seemed like forever when I was a kid. He can't have as bad as people say he was no way because you don't play at the top for that long if you are no good.
@@edborris6934 I watched football non stop in the 80s . I’m telling you now Jones was an extremely lucky guy . He had zero talent - he just got rid of it with a big boot . There was nothing he had that pub players don’t have
@@empty-ed pub players don't play for the clubs he did. I am not a football supporter but I know there's levels in all sports. You don't reach the level he did without some talent. If you could reach the top by being fit and chopping someone down I should of made aswell. Its even said in the film he could play well and they certainly know a bit more than you or me. He was never going to be one of greats. All club's need there work horses
That Wimbeldon team was bursting with talent. I loved that team as they really spoilt the Prem League party beating plus LFC in the cup was just sublime. Super Dons !!
Im pretty sure everyone is claustrophobic locked in a boot of a car!! How thick are these clowns! I grew up south London and hated and terrorised clowns like this! Plums!
I love Gazza's account of meeting him at Newcastle United for the first time , Gazza " you're Vinnie Jones " Vinnie " you're dead " lol , then Gazza shitting himself asking the ref how long they had left to play "89 minutes" the ref replied ehehe
Jones played in the same team as Billy Whitehurst at Sheff United. Whitehurst in an interview on Talksport was asked about Vinnies tough guy reputation and Whitehurst said "he went on to have a decent acting career in Hollywood, so I'll leave it at that". Whitehurst was the genuine thug of English football who deliberately went out to intimidate and hurt people on the pitch and unlike Vinnie, Whitehurst was even worse off the pitch, even his own team mates were scared of him, look him up.
Make no mistake Vinnie Jones was as hard as nails💪 he was a machine on the pitch & scared of nobody, he was a great asset to have in ur team, he was a leader & a protector of his team mates as such. He was not afraid/bothered about having a row, Many players were afraid of him an afraid to try’n to tackle him, incase of retaliation from him which gave him a mental edge a such over the opposing team players.Players tended to try’n keep away from him as much as possible LOL, he challenged players for the ball with relentless tackles he was an absolute BEAST!! There were no half Challenges from him, when he went in on his opponents for a challenge he went in hard-really hard! Often leaving the opponent rolling round on the floor in agony clutching at there leg(s) Sometimes a clean challenge BUT mostly a crunching challenge often resulting in a foul either seeing him pick up a yellow card or even a red with him ultimately getting sent off! This happened on numerous occasions. Long story short he was a different kind of animal on the field, when a game kicked off he would try to make his mark quite quickly by challenging hard to assert him dominance quite quickly & in a way intimidate the opponent with devastating tackles showing them who’s Boss & in control LOL, The only Players who come close to Vinnie & are of similar personalities I believe are Roy Keane & Duncan Ferguson, they too were both ruthless on the pitch a lot of the time. #monsters.
@@davidfelix2594 cum’on ur really using Gladiators(an entertainment show) to describe avinnie Jones 😂😂😂 Cum’on @davidfelix2594 u can’t judge him off that TV Gladiators shite LOL, He would have been warned about his behaviour before the show even started, It was often a few Gladiators(Not just 1) making a B-line for Vinnie which lets not forget the Gladiators were juiced up to the gills on steroids! Looking the hard part only would be him just acting in movies like his most notable movies - Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels & Snatch….Etc, BUT he used to prove his strength & not scared of anybody mentality on the pitch, also his performances including rock hard challenges, taking players out, sometimes a foul! made him a player that other team players were scared of/intimidated by, nobody wanted to be tackled by Vinnie Jones as there was NO guarantee that it was gunna be a clean tackle!!!💯😂
There is a lot of shit there. @ the 48:49 its a commercial for the Swedish stryktipset, a Swedish television about football Vinnies or not. No noses got hurt there.
