I use Pecans for the bottom & use Strawberry gel from a bag & mix in my strawberries (so no cooking jello). It's soo much easier & faster. I love this recipe. My Aunt used to make it with Cherries & called it Cherry Yum Yum. That is yummy too. 😋
This one goes way back -- I'm remembering it from the 1960's.! So if that's the case then its from the 1950s because I was just a small child when I had it. Can't wait to make it for friends!
Just watched your wife do the "Vinnie's Vittles" sign in the background with her Cricut and came over to see if I could spot it. Great job on the sign and yummy sounding recipe!!
First New years Eve that my husband's family were coming to celebrate at our new apartment.I made the strawberry pretzel dessert It looked beautiful , but guess what , I forgot to add the sugar to the cream cheese . I was so proud of it until I took the first bite ..I couldn't fix it .I had this dessert at work and got the recipe from the person that made it ..This is so good everyone should try it. Just make sure you don't bake the crust too long and don't forget the sugar ! Happy to find this recipe again.
Wow! Love all those things. And I use my fingers/hands too. Lol one of the things I like most about your channel is that you are a county boy and proud of it. Thanks Vinnie, Hugs Jess
I've made this for years. If I don't make it for family functions, I'm always concerned I will be kicked out of the family, lol! My recipe, I got from our church cookbook, calls for the crust to be 1 cup pretzels and 1 cup crushed pecans. It's the only recipe I've seen calling for pecans. It's great! Of course, you can never go wrong with strawberries, cream cheese, and Cool Whip - YUM!
This is a recipe I remember from my days at Purdue over 20 years ago, they just made it with raspberries. I've been looking for a recipe and have finally found one! Now if I could find the Cookies and Cream Cake recipe I would be set! Tfs!
This is my family's favorite salad! I've never been fond of making it, you make it look as easy😊, how do you do that! Ha! Seriously though, thank you so much Vinnie!!!!!!!!
Beautiful kitchen.. I love the cabinets and the finish! Oh, the recipe looked delicious too lol. Just found your channel, so new subscriber waving hello.
Saving this recipe! It looks amazing. I plan on making it for the holidays this year. My MIL makes a strawberry pie for with the jello and strawberries just with reg pie crust and whip cream on top it's my FIL favorite. I'm going to make this for him this year and see what he thinks :)
I personally think a big container of whipped cream was too much and you dont taste the cream cheese as much so I halved the whip cream or you could use the smaller container and I buy the 6 oz jello in raspberry SOOO GOOD!
We had this for the holidays every year when I was young. I am making it for my family for Christmas this year. I was going to look for the recipe, but now I don't have to. Thank you Vinnie.
Thank you for your video and I sure would like a big bowl of that delicious dessert right now. You made it look real easy to do so I may try to make it some day. God Bless you and your family. Spec V.B.
I like to sub sour cream for part of the cool whip. It help the dessert be not quite so sweet. You can also add sliced bananas and a few nuts to the jello/strawberry mixture,
This is yummy but I use Pineapple Juice instead of Water is what I do...oh yummy now I need to make this before I start my Keto......tfs Love watching these older vids.....Blessings from AZ 🙏🌴🌵🌞🌺
OMG That looks so great. Oh you definitely were enjoy your taste test...took you back to your good 'ol days!! Best you and Maymay had a Strawberry Pretzel salad party before the kids come in and devour it. What a yummy looking dish. TFS. YOU ROCK!! Joan smith
I'm from Kentucky love the way u talk y'all must be from the south thank u for that dish I had it a long time ago at a wedding reception and just loved it so much 💘
Oh yeah well thank you for showing me a inexpensive way how to make desserts and stuff like that because in the Tarheel state where I live that stuff doesn't cost that much money especially if you're having like someone over maybe for the 4th of July or Father's Day cookout and things like that oh yeah always great to serve cold dessert
Bobbie FLAY move over. Here comes Vinny. This looks so good. Who would have thought to make a crust with pretzels. Pure genius! Thanks for sharing! Tink
I love sweet and salty mixed together too Vinney. I love this salad and wish I could have it more often. But hubby doesn't like it, he is very picky and I'm not! lol Thanks for the recipe Vinney!!
Angela You can make cool whip by using 1 cup of heavy cream and adding 2 tablespoons of confectioner sugar then using a mixer you whip it until stiff peaks form.
Unsalted butter or salted? I have seen recipes that call for both. I am concerned that the pretzels are already salty and the butter might put the saltiness over the top.
I am sure this is a dumb question...but do I thaw out the strawberries before pouring over the jello? Thanks for your response Btw, great job 👍 👍👍 👍👍 👍👍 👍 TFS
I'm having a time watching you YT cooks lick your fingers and not wash before finishing 🤦 you still had more filling in that bowl 😂 I love strawberry pretzel desert
This looks awesome and makes total sense! Sweet and salty flavors with firm and soft textures. I just made something similar to this but I made a macadamia nut shortbread crust and left the frozen strawberries out. I also added a 3oz. package of cooled down lemon jello to the mix as it holds a firmer mold of the cream cheese mixture. Honestly as similar as our recipes is, it's the crust that makes both our recipes so yummy and unique! I love pretzels and I'm definitely going to try your way plus it cost much less. Thank you for this video, I'll let you know how it turns out. I'll check out your page for more recipes. Do you have Facebook or Instagram?
G's_Creations It is whipped cream, it is a brand name really. It is firmer than regular whipped cream and I think it is flavored somewhat too. Hope that helps!
This looks delicious! However this is not a salad it is kinda like a cake/dessert.. a salad is loose in a bowl not set in a casserole dish. I will try it because it looks good tho.
