You can tell by the recording of the guitars that those amplifiers were freakin’ CRANKED TO 10! I would have loved to be in that studio as he was laying down the guitar tracks. I’m sure I’d have permanent hearing loss.
if i remember right the album sleeve of Invasion said something like this album is meant to be played at maximum volume or some thing like that. And yeah VV on these album sounded like he had his amps all the way up too. I never cared for his tone on these, i think they could have sounded better. But. when he left Kiss, it's like I'm gonna play as loud and fast as possible whether the song needs it or not..
@lowdz68 in regards to over the top guitar playing.. ther is a point where it does feel over the top for this type of metal rock. A few of his finished polished studio tracks are magnificent and that will include vocals. thec demo state of these songs are not particularly showing much skill in composition ..probably finished product would be Mastered and edited and parts changed.
Vinnie was so talented, but he needed people like Paul and Gene to help him focus. The Creatures and Lick It Up was his best work because he wasn't allowed to just go crazy with the guitar work. He was forced to be a team/group player, which he obviously wasn't. Plus, Robert's vocals were just too high pitched.
For the Robert Fleischman fans out there, here he is with his pre VVI band Shatterminx: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ggEy6xBXPwU.html
Just heard this record for the first time. Too bad about the sound quality, but damn, this album rocks! Never expected it would be this good. I like the first half of the songs the most. Definitely gonna check it out more often.
This should have been their second album… would have appreciated it much more than „All Systems Go“, but then it also hast the vocalist it should have!
Vinnie was never Included with all the other 80's shredders only because of his being part of Kiss & Kiss never got respect as musicians. Vinnie is on the same level playing wise with Vai, Mcalpine, Moore, Satriani & Malmstine. And a better song writer too, IF he just knew when to say when with the guitar solos in his songs!!!
Damn right, he never had a sense of what to play and in which moment he had to play... like Paul said in his book his guitar style was like vomiting, and he always wanted to showcase himself playing long epic solos
These Solos seem more refined and better placed than invasion , I can hear the rehearsals with kiss and writing sessions Vinnie : ok now I bust into my ear shredding solo Right ? Kiss : uh no Vinnie how about a chorus instead lol .....like on lick it up ....no solo it's a melody / chorus in the middle .
@@TheThirdWheel618 Yeah only that but a lot of these solos are better as well, smoother, better note choices etc.. That solo at the beginning of rocks on fire is fuckin beautiful. The one in "wild child" is awesome, insane speed and sounds clean.
This was a long time ago the record company didn't want to release it because all the grunge music coming in they said it was overkill on the guitar the singing was too high just a sad time it was released two years earlier in 1988 it would have actually been released and probably promoted Vinny is the best songwriter I've never known he can play jazz all day long and you want to know it was him until you saw his face playing it everything he does is jazz it's just incredibly fast I hope it gets released it'd be nice to hear the tracks remastered at least
Vinnie was always one of my very favourite guitarists in the 80s (massively criminally underrated imho) - and precisely because of his totally OTT playing! I’ve been listening to him a lot recently again (it’s now 2022) and I love it more than ever: completely masturbatory ultra-widdle, and it’s fantastic! No one else like him, ever, & I love that. Never heard this unreleased album before - his playing on here is f**king fantastic! Thank you so much for posting! 🤘🤘🤘
The exact opposite of what I fell in love with Vinnie Vincent for. I miss his ability to be melodic and then punchy. His musicality and tapping into his ability to write great songs (along with his incredible singing)...what could have been.
...Fleischman is an animal on vocals, it would of had a bit more aggression in the vocal tone than Mark Slaughter (even though the two singers have a similar range). But thing is Vinnie said in an interview with Mike Brunn that for All Systems Go the record company took away the heavy guitar tone that the first album had and wanted a softer sound overall for All Systems Go - which he didn't really want but just went with it. I like the guitar sound on the first album more than the second, though cool songs on All Systems like Ashes to Ashes, Dirty Rhythm, Love Kills, and That Time of Year sound pretty cool as well.
Breakout is pretty underrated. If I had a nickel for every former kiss lead guitarist that formed a band with their name in it and released a song called "breakout", I'd have two nickels. It isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice.
26:48 Those 'off note' changes within the harmony lines are jazz like in Full Shredd - the unexpected moody dissonance against where you would normally expect some progressions to go is very cool and individual. I don't care what people say about Vinnie, the guy was a very talented and creative song writer.
The time changes on this album is insane. The key changes are crazy. How have I never heard this before? This has a huge feel like a rock opera. The playing all around is top notch. SO glad you posted it. Lyrics and vocals so perfect.
Totally agree with your comment, VV writing skills were so ahead of the competition. Regular "Ashes To Ashes" is a great example, full of riffs in different keys that connect perfectly. I find his soloing a bit silly for the most of the part, but you can tell he was searching for his style; I don't think it would have been any problem for him to emulate your average pentatonic - van halen-ish solos that were typical from that era.
Mark SLAUGHTER has the best range and his voice is more fun to listen to. This singer ain't too bad it's a little generic and over blown but it's goes with the music composition.
Vinnie should had released it somehow shortly after resurfacing for the fans 30 yrs later did album signings had that V guitar would had made some $ and pleased fans at the same time ...missed it 😲...great album ...
People talk a lot of shit about Vinny Vincent… but how many guitar covers do you see where people are covering his guitar solos on RU-vid?… there might be one or two…. And that’s because no one can do it.
He is supposedly going to finally release this......but still no sign of an official release yet..... Invincible is one of my favorite tracks by Vincent. The solo is full shred over the top, but still melodic. Would love to hear a properly mastered version of it, and the rest of this album.
His riffs and compositions are much better than his solos. This is prog metal here, miles ahead of any hair metal band in terms of sheer musicality. Too bad he liked to go OTT and was a prime example of a dork, this record could have been an influential classic.
WHERE IS THE FIRST RECORDING OF "GET THE LEAD OUT"? THE ONE WHERE BOTH THE MIX, THE GUITARS, AND ROBERT FLEISCHMAN HOLDS MUCH LESS BACK BUT TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL. DOES ANYONE HAVE IT? The "Get The Lead Out" from the Euphoria EP was very tame and dry in comparison. Can anybody help me? I have tons of KISS bootlegs with Vinnie, the entire Dream Theater Catalog instrumental reproduced by their own engineer. Please help
Wow, I've never heard this! Their first was great. I remember buying the second album in the late 80s and being kinda disappointed. This is way better!!
I can only say one thing ... Vinnie please learn to EDIT your over playing ,there are some good songs somewhere under all the extra guitar , we miss out on the track itself ..if it was an instrumental track ..YES JAM IT OUT .but on the songs you can't make out the division between vocals , melody backing track ..I bet there are some great songs there ..because V.V. can write !
@@wildflowrecordsandmedia6355 He's a time traveller, you wouldn't beloeve how many Brits use the appstrophe to form plural. It's become a norm nowadays. I find it awful.
