I have played some classic Gibsons since I know a collector, and I must say these guitars sound and play well beyond their price tag.

Odd how there is not a single mention of Gary Moore in this video. Especially when you consider he owned the original guitar way longer than Peter Green and was responsible for the change of knobs and tuners. He also made the mark under the pickups from years of playing. Enjoyed the video still!

If you look at the pictures of a 'Stripe' guitar, owned by Gary Moore , it looks like the distressed job on Lemon drop is done to mimic that guitar. Also the lack of lacquer on the body and back of the neck resembles Stripe guitar. I've reed that Peter Green mentioned that greeny had a chunky neck and wasn't really a joy to play. Lemon Drop has a really thin neck, much more like Stripe ('59 flametop) would have. And the neck pickup on Stripe was reversed also. Anyway, I'm thinking to just remove the pickup covers on my Lemon Drop and have a Gary tribute guitar since he was much better player then Peter to me.

I think it’s just the fact that when Gary finally sold the Peter Green guitar, however it ended up, it still was the guitar he made famous. Gary Moore is a legend also and is partially responsible for keeping the PG legend alive and well. This guitar is now owned by Kirk, so what will it be called when he passes it on? This guitar is what myths are made of... pretty cool he made a guitar that tips its hat to the original... to get all those mods done right costs a bit, so it’s great you can buy the out of phase out of the box. Of course it’s not a real LP, but honestly, when the drummer starts playing, can the audience really tell? Great musicians make average instruments sound great... an average musician can’t make a 5k Gibson sound like its worth 5k. I think it’s fantastic people, both rich and poor can play a Peter Green style guitar.

Danny Kirwan, who played with Peter, was a friend of mine. I just found out these guitars existed today and am seeking one out right now. Since Danny passed I’ve been playing his song “Dust” & want to play more of his compositions. Can’t wait to play this guitar. Thanks for making them, it’ll encourage others to explore the music of Peter Green and indeed Danny Kirwan. My cover of “Dust” in honour of Danny: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5kcZhEJPKn0.html

This guitar has really caught my eye. I like the afd one as well but I’m leaning toward the lemon drop. I have had a les Paul standard since 1990 but these seem like a nice addition to my collection at an extremely reasonable price. My LP cost like 1300 in 1990!

I've owned many Les Pauls over my 35 years of playing owned best of USA Gibson and Japanese tokais and Greco's etc but after playing these I sold all 4 of my Gibson and Japanese les pauls and bought two of these, one of which I reversed the neck pickup back into phase on. Construction, playability and feel these are top notch I will say if you can get an earlier version from 2010ish they are built to traditional Lester specs with normal heel cutaway. Pickups are built to 59 paf spec and the whole guitar just oozes quality. No wonder Gibson got worried about these

I just got the V100 reissued flamed thru trans red with the zebra pick ups. All I can say is they play awesome and make some sultry sounds. Chose it over an epi plus top pro because of sound and build quality, the flamed top on the V100 was a much better finish, So the V100 came home with me. Best £400 I've spent in a long time.

Actually Gary Moore changed those mismatched knobs. And you should talk about Gary also when discussing the original Greeny/Moore 59´. But anyway what a great great guitar this replica is!

Lauri Vartinen sadly Moore is dead. Passed away a few years ago. And no....Greeny put the mismatched control knobs on that Les Paul. Everything the guy said was spot on.

Lauri Vartinen i have an old Guitar Player Magazine thats all about Peter Green and that Les paul and when Greeny still owned it the control knobs were mis matched exactly as everyone knows them to be.

Jeremiah Wilson What about the tuners? I think Gary Moore replaced them didn't he?

SITH GIRL yes. I think Moore did swap out the tuning pegs. Prolly Grovers or Schallers.

I got the sunburst chery v 100 with wilkinsons autograph on the back of the headstock,...I needed a guitar for my gary moore song covers at Blues Night in howling wolf bar ...the only thing was the bridge was too high on treble side wich I just have to adjust a bit,it has the great sustain I need for that style

Hi, I just ordered the Vintage V100 ICON Electric Guitar ~ Distressed Lemon Drop. I’ve heard the ‘Out Of Phase’ middle pick-up selection on this guitar was achieved by wiring, rather than switching the polarity of the neck pick-up magnet? Is this factual? The guitar hasn’t arrived yet, but when it does I’m considering taking out the magnet at the neck pick-up and putting it back in at a reversed polarity to get closer to Peter Green’s sound. However, would switching the polarity of the neck pick-up magnet mean that the pick-ups would no longer be ‘Out Of Phase,’ due to the wiring on this guitar? Thank you. Best, Danny

First time I have ever heard that story about taking the pickup out for the recording of The Supernatural.

I read it was Gary Moore that changed the tone nobs and the machine heads. 🤔🤔

I have the V100CS which has a scarf joint & I've seen them without. Any reasoning behind this? I am looking for the V100PGM with the sunburst, but hard to find in Canada

Kirk Hammett bought the original Peter Green "Greeny" in an auction for the bargain of 2 million USD.😅

It beggars belief that Wilkinson knows so little about the guitar he is copying. The tuners were replaced by Gary Moore. The tone knobs were replaced by Gary Moore. The wear on the original, which is simulated on this guitar, was caused by Gary Moore.

Yeah, there´s a video with Gary´s old guitar tech, where he has the original Greeny and tells how Gary replaced the tuners with Grover locking tuners, for better tuning stabillity and also talks about the knobs. Gary had lots of modding done to the original guitar over the years, in order to improve playabillity/tuning stabillity etc. which I find amusing when you see all these elitist vintage Gibson cork sniffers out there. Similar thing with David Gilmour who had modded his famous black strat beyond human regocnition, over the years.
