Vintage Art Deco Kitchen Stuff! 

Scott, this video goes beyond amazing. We all see these things in thrift stores, old magazine ads, and antique malls, but now you have shown us, “the rest of the story.” Would you just look at what happened when we as a nation plugged in, turned on, and tuned in. Amazing the things Americans were able to accomplish during and after a depression. We built dams and harnessed electricity. We electrified cities. We strung lines of communication, then phones, radios, and television brought us all together. I will never be shocked by great American ingenuity, just in awe. Thanks. So cool!

bare minimum, you need to be on public access TV. you are far more interesting than a lot of the educational TV presenters too! thanks for another interesting video, Scott.

My mother worked for Sunbeam in Chicago throughout the 1950s and 60s. She worked in what they called the "Traffic" Department which I believe is something similar to supply chain shipping. We had all of these appliances and I learned to cook on most of them. My sister and I occasionally were allowed to accompany her to work and they even had a "take your child to work" day that we went to in some years. That was pretty progressive for a company in the 1960s. For a divorced mother of two this job was very important to our family and they treated their employees well. I have a lot of good memories of the company and I am forever grateful that my mother had such a good job.

My parents were married in 1950 and they received this mixer as a wedding present. The had a juicer attachment and I think a meat grinder. It lasted till two years ago when but started smoking. But I keep the 2 bowls . Gave me a good memory to see it. Thanks

I was fortunate to get my grandmothers original Sunbeam mixer. One of my most prized possessions!

After that advertisement for the sunbeam electric fry pan I really want to find one. She sold me on it!

Appliances that were made to last a lifetime...or maybe 2 lifetimes, lol. But those hand mixers sure did weigh a ton when you had to use them on a thick cookie dough for 10 minutes. My mom used to get us kids to take turns.

You make me wish I still had my fry pan from the 70s ...I don't remember what happened to it. That mixer is amazing. They don't build 'em like that any more!

Nothing beats an electric frying pan for nice even cooking of pancakes! I got mine used when I went away to college in 1969 and I still use it. My Grandma had the Sunbeam mixer. $50 was expensive for the 1950's for a mixer. I can see why the less expensive hand mixer became so popular.

These old appliances are looking more & more modern to me or maybe I’m just falling in love with everything vintage. The Sunbeam mixer is pretty amazing. I had no idea it had all those attachments. It’s a pretty impressive machine. Love seeing the old commercials. There’s a welcome decorum in them compared to commercials today. I’m nostalgic tonight for the past. Stay well & be safe, Scott. Those old commercials were so detailed. My parents married in 1961 and she still uses that electric fry pan. The meals we enjoyed in that! Just Loved everything about this video.

I still have my Mixmaster (in gold), from my wedding shower in 1971! One of the beaters wore out and it was a dickens to replace because I couldn't find my model number on my machine, and after so many years, I had no manual either! Finally managed to find the right one! I don't have any attachments, never really considered it.---I still have my Sunbeam shaver from high school in the 60's! No fry pan tho'. Mom never had one, so I was never exposed to its use.---Was sure fun seeing those old commercials (before my time too, altho' we never spent much time watching commercials when I was a kid in the 50's & 60's!)

You really find some gems. It doesn’t surprise me though. What does amaze me is the commercials. My mother in law had the mixer. My grandma had the frying pan.

Educational as always. Loved the phone call. What has me most curious is, what kind of bread was your toast? It looked home baked. The Sunbeam Mixmaster was the blender Mom used for every birthday cake, Christmas cake (she made 3 kinds), and every bowl of mashed potatoes we had when I was growing up. I became my when she passed, and I used it right up until I dropped it and it snapped in half. 😢 I cried like a baby. The sound almost has me crying again.

My mother had that frying pan, her favorite to cook in it was Chicken Cacciatore! Brings back many memories. .Unfortunately when she died at 101yr it was lost when her apt was cleaned out, I know it was there!!

I grew up with the electric frying pan too. On Sunday mornings we would all squeeze into the diner booth at the end of the kitchen. Dad would make French toast or pancakes and we would slather them with butter and honey or salt (French toast). It was wonderful. I too still have the frying pan though it hasn't been used in at least a decade. Thaaanks for the memories... OH! Back in the early 70s my mom's crystal Joy de Parfum bottle stopper got stuck (more like fused.) I don't know what was attempted but dad ended up drilling a tiny hole so that mom could use the perfume. Hopefully you'll have better luck. But if you don't, it is still a beautiful thing.

Yes ,I can remember one being in my house in the 50s. At Christmas they made some wonderful cakes for Santa. I also had the fry pan I bought one after I married in 1966.mine made a lot of fried chicken. A lot of happy memories ,a time I wish i could go back to. Scott thanks for the travel down memory lane you always have something that takes me back to things that I had forgotten about. Thanks for the adventure. This was an absolutely fabulous outstanding unbelievable with all the accoutrements video...you are so much fun and so thorough. I got mom her last of three Sunbeam mixers at Walmart in 2007 for Christmas...so glad...she wanted one again for her cut our cookie dough...and I have gone through 3 electric fry pans with that darn teflon...they last a second..what finds here. My Sunbeam I got oh probably 2005 and it is white and black with the metal bowls. Mom's deal in the electric frypan..a lamb currey after a leg of lamb dinner when i was younger...my sisters do not remember,,,,so she stopped that and then the biggie..a pot roast...the queen of the browned meat and veggie pot roast...thanks so much..you are so great!!

My mom had that Sunbeam mixer and I would trade 100 fancy new Kitchen Aid mixers to have it back.

Scott you sure do know a great deal about antiques, l am always impressed. My mom had a Sunbeam like the one you have for sale. Before every holiday as we got ready for company, that Mix Master sound was in the background. Just think we used to make things to last, and they did out last many of today's products. Thank you Scott. I've started using an electric fry pan that was given to me by my older sister. She got it in 1960. She didn't use it much.

I inherited the Mixmaster,fry pan and the toaster,too. I used them all for many years! All were circa 1953.

Scott, that was a very good video, full of interesting information. Anything about kitchens is always of interest to me, appliances, utensils, cookbooks, furniture, dishes, pots and pans -- everything that goes in a kitchen is of interest to me. I remember the kitchens where we lived when I was a child, first in Levittown NY, then here in Southern California. I don't remember ever having any Sunbeam kitchen appliances when I was a kid in the 1950s and into the 1960s. I remember watching television at home when I was very young. I remember that over the years, we did have a series of hand-held mixers, probably obtained from JCPenney or Sears. I think we had a Toastmaster toaster. We had a dry electric iron, but i don't remember what brand. I don't think we had any kind of waffle iron, blender, electric fry pan, etc. Your toaster is a beautiful jewel. I like the shape and function of the electric fry pan. But the Mixmaster with the Bakelite stand, juicer and blender (SIGH)! I just love the vintage Mixmasters, the shapes, the accessories, the ten speeds, and especially the bowls; so much that I have Mixmaster small and large white glass mixing bowls as well as a stainless steel set, all accumulated from thrift stores in my local area. I don't have a Sunbeam Mixmaster mixer but I still use the bowls regularly in my kitchen, as they are well made and are in good sizes. (I do have a perfectly serviceable Kitchenaid stand mixer that I have used for over 25 years.) I especially got a kick out of one of your recent videos, in which you (in costume with a full face mask) brandished a hand-held Mixmaster very menacingly. I got a "stitch" in my side from laughing so much! Scott, thank you for making such a wonderful variety of videos.

Oh what memories this video gave me! My mom had that same mixer and frying pan. I still use my Mixmaster from 1971. Looks very similar only mine is Harvest Gold with clear bowls. Wish I had that frying pan. My mom used hers often.

I got that wonderful electric frypan in the early 60s. It was the best! Wish I still had it. That commercial is right. Thanks for the memory!

my dad used to make popcorn in an electric frying pan on sundays to watch football, he would make a couple batches to fill a roasting pan for himself and little bowls for everyone else

Hey, that is the same mixermaster my grandmother had. My sister has it now. Pastel pink and black. Still works like a dream. Her's has the metal bowls.

Big beaters and controlled heat- every housewife's dream 😱 My mom made many meals in her Sunbeam electric fry pan. I could never seem to get the knack of it. Guess I like an open flame ✨😇✨😊💕

The first Mixmaster that was not available with the Jadite bowls/cream colored mixer was the model 9. The drink mixer attachment was like a soda fountain mixer and came with a clear glass mixing beaker. The six colors of the Mixmaster Junior are: white, yellow, pink, turquoise, chrome & copper.

In my minds eye, I can picture our Sunbeam mixer in the little pantry we had back in the 50s! It did weigh a lot too! Thanks for bringing that memory back to me. We had the frying pan too, we popped popcorn in it, and I burned my arm reaching across the lid, probably had butter rubbed on it since it was right there, not knowing that it was not a good thing to do back then lol, we survived, right?!

I can just remember that mixer as the one my mother had when I was very little. Sometime in the early 1970's she got another one because she wore that one out from cooking for 6 kids. I have not seen it in a video but you have a wreath listed that matches another 1980's home made ceramic that I just bought. Mine has an elf but the holly matches as well as the back so I have put a bid in. Probably the same company did the molds but the colors are the same which is perfect!

Wonderful collection of kitchen items very lovely mixer and the toaster I have one with electric woven cotton cloth very nice I don’t know what year! To lazy to goggle also I have jade- te salt and pepper but no mark on bottom great stuff and I love the antiques and vintage kitchen ware and collectibles items. I remember my mothers chrome Mix Master. I liked the smell of it when it had been running for awhile. A difficult smell for me to describe. It wasn’t the cake batter. All I know is now I want Peg’s smart suit she’s wearing 👜🍰👠

Great video. I have that Sunbeam mixer and I think I have a Sunbeam skillet similar to yours only mine has a missing leg, still use it though.

Over a hundred dollars for the Mixmaster and attachments. That's a bargain compared to $300-400 for one of those colorful KitchenAid ones. I want both the Mixmaster and pan! If only I had room for them (one-bed apartment with limited counter space).
