Thanks Matty B for the coverage of these classic guys on the these state of the art machines. The 1981 Maico was one year old at the first Loretta Lynn’s national event. Guessing Big Dave is smiling watching this one.
Guy on Maico blew head gasket and made one outa cereal box.. to make the final moto... have to love the old school making it happen to make the race...
I don't know anything about dirt bikes or racing but I do know Rodney Carrier is one of the coolest dudes you can hang out or just shoot the bull with. He's a great ATV mechanic as well, thanks for the video.
Awesome. Seen my great friend and old racing mentor #52 Daryl Smith 🏁🏁 go by him in moto 3. Rodney got a great start . Daryl has made LL 23 years in a row
@@mattburkeen820 Legends of what??? Their own minds??? I have been around MX for a long time and I never heard of them. Roger Decoster is a legend...Marty Smith is a legend...Bob Hannah is a legend...Dave Johnson is a legend....Rodney Carrier WHAT??? WHO??? More like ex-pros but def no legends there... Oh you talking about the bikes they are riding...absolutely!
@@mattburkeen820 I care...you call somebody a legend that nobody except you has ever heard of. Like calling the kettle green! Hey I must be a legend too then I was AMA District 4 champion years ago WOW baby!!! ...Bow down to the legend you heathin'!!! Hail to thee!!! dumbass
And you'd be wrong! Rodney has built many vintage bikes and raced them over the years, he knows his way around them. He's also a multi time Loretta's champion.
Well sure they can handle a full moto. Stupid comment. Dude the pros ran 45 minute motos back in the early years and of course everything held up. DUH!!!
