Yall know I love my box trucks, well this box is AWESOME! Merch available at www.puddinsfabshop.com Patreon page is up! www.patreon.com/puddinsfabshop Inquiries email puddins.fab.shop@gmail.com instagram @puddinsfabshop
That axle is an Eaton H72. It's the predecessor of the Gm corporate 14 bolt full float axle from 1 ton - 1.5ton Chevy truck. It was a 60s or older gm truck.
I think your on the right track ,but those Thiccc doors make me think Ice cream truck. The roof rack also could have been where they had the refrigeration but it would have been big and heavy so I could be totally wrong on that. International, MAC, White Motor company all sold turn key rigs, but it could have been an add on box from Swab Wagon Company. I think if you put a tape measure to it Mr. Mercer might fit right up.
I just Finnish watching, and the whole time, I kept picturing that new box being towed behind the sausage wagon. Keep doing what you're doing, Puddin. You inspire me to stay busy. I am a member of the recovery community, and I share your channel with others to help inspire them to roll with the punches and keep it moving. Thanks for all you do.
Hey Puddin it’s the air flow that is getting caught between the car and the van If you are going to tow it a lot you might want to put a wind deflector on the car so the air is flowing over the top of the van and not hitting the front of it like it is now Cheers Buddy
Watched a recent episode on David Newberns channel that shows 1,000s of sweet vintage cars & trucks that are soon to be crushed if they cant be saved. I have zero doubt you could find the correct counterpart for that trailer/boxtruck conversion in a days drive ~ it would make for some severely great content for your channels! Thank you so very kindly Puddin!
My dad said he thinks they stopped using that type of shock in the early 40s. Check the bolt pattern and if it doesn't match with anything It's most likely Studebaker.
That box looks like it's from an old milk truck from the 40's early 50's called DIVCO, they cut the cab off and filled in the opening. I'll be 10 10 on the side heading out to a 10 100. this reminds me of the cb'rs days. 10 4 good buddy
Don't apologize for good content. Anyone pushing your builds aren't spending enough time/focus/energy on their own chores/builds/lives. The chemistry evident in the rare footage with your family shows you are hittin' all the high spots. Hard work, focus, family and fun creates a great vibe.
I don't care what you get done at your old house, I want to see you living and working at your new house and garage. Can't wait to see things easier and faster I your new shop.
I would keep that trailer... a trailer. Increase the tongue height to match the travelall. Put a proper trailer axle in it.... Match set....super cool !
Hey PuDan, We don’t care where you build those projects; won’t hurt our feelings if you build them at the new place. The only person that is holding it against you, is you brother. Don’t be so hard on yourself bud. It’s a blessing that you can start builds at the new place sooner.
Man o man, here we go again….. taught my five year old to say this with me all the time when we start our adventures together for the day. Thanka puddin!!! Yeeeaappp
You may want to change the lock on the gate, one of your contractors employee may have spotted something that they want. Just something to think about. Thanks for sharing your videos!
Yep what Barrett said just keep pluggin Mr. puddin and we're good don't burn yourself out. Speaking of good just started watching and stoked that the some day model A may see its day soon like 🤩
Just wanted to let you know I watch a lot of RU-vid and this by far my absolute favorite channel to watch love what you do thank you for being original
What a sweet old trailer. That thing would look awesome with that big ass pepper on top of it. 🌶️ pumped to see the model A build. Been talking bout it forever 💪
Hey congrats on the major progress on Puddins family dream house🏡 It would be awesome to see most any pre war Ford or Chevy or even Dodge Brothers truck cab if you can find one attached to that old box👍👍
Your Travelall is sweet! Steve Magnante had one similar recently on his channel doing a junkyard crawl. The trailer box would look awesome on a 50s or 60s truck.
That was my grandparent's - Bob and Edith Borden - and later my parent's restaurant! My grandfather started the Kai Kai Cafe in the mid 20th century then my parents sold it around 1987. It was originally in downtown Hillsboro and then moved to I-35. Contrary to a previous comment, it is not related to the current R&K restaurant.
It’s just a guess but it wouldn’t surprise me if that was a U-haul at one point in it’s life. I was a U-haul dealer back in the day and I just get that vibe from the box construction/materials. I don’t think the fenders are original to it they look like they may have been added later, possibly when it was made into a trailer. Either way you seem to find the coolest things, I love it!
Too bad you couldn't find an old late 30's REO Needle nose Truck. They are Small Cabs. It would look Good in front of that box ..Great Find Sir...And Video as always .
Be forewarned, that means watch out now! If they sheetrock your house toooooo early you may get more cracks and nail pops from the wood drying. You should have a year warranty if your contractor is any good, but what I’d do is go ahead whit it, just have a conversation now that any pops and cracks at the one year mark they will come back to repair and paint.
I think the truck that would look the best in front of that box that you have would be a Studebaker truck they have the swoop in the trim like the trailer does check it out see if you can find one of them and look forward to seeing you on the 15th
From one Air Force vet to another, love watching your videos and I'm sure that you inspire many with the builds you do. If it was me I'd keep it as a trailer but if you was to put a cab on it I'd go with a 40s Studebaker.... Just my opinion... Keep up the good work.
late 40s GMC, those are knee action shocks, you can pull the drain plug on them, warm them up with a torch to melt all the old oil out of them then fill them with 90 weight, they were a real smooth riding shock, you could rebuild the rubber bushings the same way as you fix all your bushings, thats a bad ass trailer brother, gut the pig to reduce drag as well but i know you already plan to do that
I found an ad for the Kai-Kai Cafe in the back of the 1960 Hillsboro High School Yearbook. I'm guessing the trailer is 50's. There were many custom body companies back then.
In Willie Nelson's book "Willie Nelson an Epic Life" He mentions the Kai Kai coffee shop in Hillsboro Texas. Willie probably has seen your trailer around his childhood town.
Doesn’t matter where you’re building Puddin, I’m still watching. You and your family deserve that new house. Just don’t forget to give us a tour of it when it’s finished
Just got to say I'm tired of the crap the news puts out knowing half of it aint true. So I come in here to watch Puddin,,,,,, and he take my cares away. Thx Bud. Everybody can use another enclosed trailer. Puddin Truck Fleet of Oklahoma
That thing almost looked like the back of a fire truck or a service truck of some sort. Love the patina on it. Probably fits well behind the cab of an unpainted WheelhopWilma :)
That trailer is cool! I see why you just had to have it. Those curved fenders are great! Since there is no patina livery on the curb side, add your Puddin’s Fab shop livery to it. Make it yours.
I have a 1960's trail blazer. I converted it from a camper to a flatbed in 3 seconds. Wrapped a long chain around the base. Ha a 2500 HD chevy hitched to it. Did a sweet job of stripping everything off. It's only a 13 footer. . It's the handiest trailor I've ever owned. 👌👍👍
Great video puddin, me and the wife loved seeing old wild man bill😁, and look at you name dropping ole sweet patina, you go guy keep smashing it sending love to you all from England
9:30 that is a damn clean looking OBS Chevy behind you. 16:08 seeing Bill do the same back hand temp test on trailer bearings makes me feel like I've been doing it right all these years.
You know, Mortske comes across all kinds of cool old cabs in those farm auctions he goes to. Maybe you two can work something out to make a really unique box truck out of that trailer :)
I would find an old 30's Hudson Terraplane cab. You could also mount the rear bed fenders on the side of the box to tie it all together with 15" steel'ees. 😊
I think the best cab to put in front of that would be a late 30s Chevy. That's what I thought of the second I saw it. And it needs real fenders on it instead of the flat shell metal.
If you could find a 49-56ish studebaker pickup cab with similar patina that would be an awesome truck that would fit well. Those studes have a look of their own and almost look custom from factory compared to a Chevy or ford
Nice trariler find and it already has the white walls that you love. Speaking of white walls love that you have white letters on the YukonXL too. Also that was a really clean 88 or 89 OBS Chevy you parked next to when you got the trailer ball.
Great trailer for Edna. My aunt Edna's 88 years old. I have a trailer clamshell type old old old that'd be great for your model A if you're interested. It is probably from the fifties and it was used by Boy scouts. It is still watertight. Say about 2 ft deep. 6ft long are shorter. Maybe four ft wide. You are crazy also have old-fashioned luggage carrier with the suction cups and rails and straps. It's enclosed with lid that opens like a clamshell. If you're interested. It still has the old stickers on it. Like to see them both go to a good home. Thoroughly enjoy this episode as I do with all.
Poodini, you master of badassery, you. I always enjoy tagging along with your daily tasks when you share it with us. And man oh man does Gertrude look SO FINE when she's dropped 👌 Take it easy, brother man 🤙
86 in Oklahoma, 81 degrees in Virginia, I'm working on my '83 Dodge, Puddin' is rolling around like it's summer, Mortske is lost in a snowbank somewhere. Just dig wherever Duff Dog is scratching at, you'll find him.
👍👌👏 That's definitely a really nice and useful trailer. I would love to own it. Why not simply keeping it as it is and tow it with an already done box truck? 2) If you convert the trailer back to be a box truck again, please consider to put on a flat/plate/short nose cab (maybe even a cab over like a Chevy COE or GMC COE out of the 1940s). This would make the relatively high box truck look very unique. Additionally the vehicle would be highly manoeuvrable because of the short wheel base. 2a) How about using your fun truck with the tiny rear wheels to build this delivery box truck? 3) Please take care of yourself and your family. Nowadays even the spring sun is able to damage yours skins. Best regards luck and especially health to all of you.
Is that an old milk truck box? Or maybe beer truck? Like an old Divco maybe? I dunno /shrug, I like it with the old vintage business lettering. Would be cool to keep as is. Nice score man!
I've been to that cafe in Hillsboro tx. It's still in operations with an original looking interior. It's now called the R&K cafe. It's about an hour south of Dallas off of interstate 35. It has an upper and lower seating area.
