Great video! Now I have an entirely new reason to revisit the collection! I was interested in the link you mentioned about how you store/sort your button collection but didn’t see it in the description. I’ll see if I can find it but always get distracted by all your other interesting videos!

@@TheVelvetLoungeLife I’m a very new ‘collector’ and became interested after ending up with a steal on a lot at an auction. I found your videos and discovered the remarkable effort put into the craftsmanship of these tiny critical items which are taken so much for granted now. (You are a fantastic storyteller - much appreciated.) I am in awe of the work put into the buttons with age. I started buying more in bulk to learn about them by researching what I had in hand so can’t say I have a “collection” yet. Just a bunch of buttons I need to sort! EXCEPT, after this video, I hit a random handful of my older looking ones with a backlight and BAM, I have nice glower! It has become the first button I’ve found which made the cut as a keeper! I saw others which glowed but none as radiantly as this one. Ultimately, I think I’ll stick to the search for buttons which highlight pride by detailed craftsmanship but will definitely add a scan for the glowing ones now also!

When I buy jewelry bags there are sometimes faux pearl necklaces with damage. If they are painted glass beads I strip the paint to reuse the beads. The darker colored faux pearls have paint that is really difficult to remove & it glows. Guess they used uranium or magnesium in the paint. Very durable paint.
