Vintage Collection Return to Tatooine? More Aliens or the HASLAB Cantina in 2025? 

"Not everybody is going to get everything they want. It's just impossible". I don't know why people can't understand that. I'm an OT purist, and I get giddy when I see figures from those 3 movies that have never been made before. I don't even care if they use tooling from a completely different figure. Velken and Taym were a dream come true last year. But I don't get in a hissy when they release figures from the ST, BoBF, OWK, Ahsoka, or The Bad Batch. I haven't bought anything from them. But I'm happy for the people that do. I didn't back the Ghost, zero interest. But I'm sure glad it funded

I'm a 3.75 collector of OT, PT and new media Ahsoka, Mando etc. The only one I don't collect is ST but that is my choice. We are one 3.75 collecting community. Lets get the Cantina over the line!!

Hurray for the Mos Eisley Cantina!

Happy to have backed 2 Deluxe Cantina's. I paid for a Sail Barge after the Haslab was finished and I won't make that mistake again. Rather buy them at retail and then maybe sell one at markup later. We'll see. The Tonnika sisters alone will be worth their weight in gold.

For the "Return to Tattooine" event I think an original appearance Dewback would be incredible! Never produced in the Modern Era 1995-present.

After watching your HasLab livestream I am reconsidering whether to purchase the Cantina. The Playset is becoming more appealing, with some help from your videos.

By the way, all of us need a entirely new Grand Moff Tarkin for TVC line!!!! 🙏🙏🤗

I love what you said about new media/OT. We all LOVE Star Wars and everyone has their preference on favorite characters, but that does not mean we need to shut down the others, what should matter is getting fun and quality characters into the TVC family!

I agree about the weird habit regarding only releasing single members of a team. Why only 1 Praetorian Guard? Why only 1 Knight of Ren? Where are the others? Why only Hunter? Where are the other Inquisitors? Its really odd

There was a bandstand in the Holiday Special. I could see them doing that as a standalone release that connect to the Haslab for those who have it or work as its own thing.

The cantina is great, but they really should release an original trilogy retooled vehicle, once or twice a year.(non-Haslab)

I might just back the Cantina even though it means giving up getting a Jabba right away and any other new toys for my collection. I'm importing the new Leia, Darth Vader and R2D2 from a webstore in Canada. I can hold off getting anymore Stormtroopers and custom figures for awhile!

My QFNW: Within the next year, do you think we’ll get the Boba reissue with all the proper adjustments, like the card image, moveable range-finder, and chest computer read-out. And if any, what other Bobas would you like to see? I’d also love to see a Mythos Boba, Prototype Boba, All-black Gladiator Boba, ESB Boba etc… and how about an acid/battle damaged boba straight out of the Sarlacc! And I think everyone agrees we should be getting a carded Jango with the other jetpack maybe, and the infamous poncho. I know a lot of the community have mando fatigue, but maybe these easy options for Hasbro could boost the profits for new tooling opportunities?

The stickers that come with the Cantina are cool, no doubt. But good luck sticking them on the outer walls of the Cantina - Hasbro forgot to include those!!!

The Cantina is a dream item for some of us collectors from a nostalgia and figure display perspective. For me, it IS Star Wars. If one expects Hasbro to release additional products to support this project (aliens, landspeeder, etc.), do you believe it is reasonably safe to purchase Legacy and Black Series cantina patrons? The concern is spending hundreds on the "black market" (tongue in cheek) for an updated figure then it be released. Side comment, really wish this was announced closer to the end of the year. $500 Ghost then this.?! My wife will not be happy with me. I may sell some plasma.

Hey Tim, congrats on the Channel Anniversary. My question revolves around the discussion about what figures should TVC focus on: Should Hasbro focus the TVC retail line around OTC, Prequels (including Clone Wars) and New Media as fan channel items? I think it could balance the line for collectors as they would buy only the eras they collect. About the HasLab Mos Eisley Cantina, I really hope it succeeds, for the future of TVC, unfortunately, I cannot back it mainly because my current situation makes it impossible. Also, I am at a crossroads about 3.75 collecting since my main focus has been on the 6-inch lines (mainly Classified). I will still buy some selected TVC figures and possibly vehicles (the E-Wing looks fantastic) and will support the March Madness Tournament (it is always fun), polls and any activity from the TVC community to keep TVC alive. Video idea- Cantina figures that open up Figures from PT/New media. A good example having just got to your comment about them likely making hammerhead.. The hammerhead jedi dude! i forget the species name/character name.. but that jedi is well needed. I think likewise Cad bane opens up the duros fellas, the fake trandosions open up Bossk! and other of his species as well. I know somebody in the community does forum posts like this, but i feel like a video is needed to remind the people who are disliking the Cantina choice.. that when these figures get made it opens the door to other figures from PT and new Media, and they should celebrate hasbro using new tooling to get weird and wacky creatures done!

As John said on your excellent livestream last night BB, if the Cantina succeeds, it will help the entire TVC line - OT, PT, new media, animation, everything. If it fails, which it will not, the reverse is true. The Cantina must and deserves to succeed, it's just a magnificent creation!

Hey Tim.. thanks as always for your videos and livestreams on a subject we all care so much about. IMO, the Cantina is such an iconic location and of huge importance to Star Wars lore. Naturally I’ve backed it, even though playsets have never really been my passion. QFNW: hypothetically, what do you see happening to future HL projects if the Cantina fails to get minimum backers? I’m tempted to pay for both offerings just to help it get over the line!

The Cantina is the best thing Hasbro will ever make, hands down. Everyone who doesn't get one is going to regret it so hard in the coming years.

I will not ever collect anything except SW, ESB, ROTJ and Rogue One. I have never "pish poshed" any of the products for other media. I have looked at the roster of TVC and I'm not sure if I was a PT collector that I would even bother with TVC... and that bums me out. The line IMHO would be stronger if all SW media was blended into TVC all the time, so that most everyone was getting something in every wave.

Congratulations on your achievement on RU-vid! QFNW- do you feel that we could use a newer updated Red Leader from the old version that was released back in the early 2000’s. Also do you think that we would see a Carson Teva or Trapper Wolf X-Wing from The Mandalorian? Love watching your videos, and I’m new to your channel. What kind of things would you like to see revealed down the road regarding the return to Tatooine campaign? I would like to see a new Lars homestead with Owen and Aunt Beru. A new dewback or even a sarlaac pit playset. The playsets may be wishful thinking. But a man can dream.

Great video as always. QFNW: You recently did a video where you showed all the cantina patrons released and the best versions of them. I appreciate that there are few new figures that would be provided through the Haslab and a few from TVC 1.0 etc, however, that still leaves a lot of figures (20 or so) that people would need to track down on the secondary market, if they wanted to complete the scene based upon the best version of the cantina figures ever produced - prices of which can vary and be expensive especially given the standards of some of them. I feel that a playset’s usefulness is much more correlated to the figures that are around to support it than maybe a ship (ie a ship displayed with limited figures in or around it, won’t look as bad whereas as a playset with limited figures in it will). Given, people backing the Haslab are putting a lot of money into it (much more than they did for the Jabba’s palace set for example), at what point do you think it is unreasonable for Hasbro to not produce figures for it (i.e. is it reasonable that they make 5 of the 20 old figures to TVC standards and people have to track down another 15 from the secondary market or is it 10 and 10). I really do think that if Hasbro had been clearer about how it tends to support the Cantina going forward it would be doing better than it is (I thought it would race towards 8,000 pretty easily). This is especially frustrating as this is feedback that collectors have previously provided to them. I would add I think it looks awesome and I think it will back, I’m just not sure whether it will do so to all tiers currently. Thanks and keep up the great work 😀

Hey Bossk Great Video as always. My View on the Return To Tattooine theme is that it will be All-Encompassing, meaning new items from A New Hope, Book Of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian. We've already been informed that there'll be a Cobb Vanth figure, a Blurrg, and an Armorer's Playset. Maybe we'll get Cobb's Speeder? Perhaps during this Year we'll get a Pele Motto as well as a Pike Figure? Possibly a Dewback, Bantha or a Rancor? We'll have to wait and see. As to the Cantina Haslab. I would have preferred it to be a Themed Pulse Project with the option for each modular piece to be bought separately. Haslab Projects to me are more about Large Vehicles rather than Playsets. Thoughts?

Hi Bossk Do you think we might get a time extension for the Haslab Cantina as we’re struggling to get it backed at the moment let alone the hit the tiers I feel a 31 day campaign is always going to have a negative effect on the number of potential backers than the usual 45 days Are TVC collectors paying the price for Hasbro’s delay in getting the campaign out on 4th of May? Great episode this and the livestream was fun, good way to hype up the Cantina and Tuna had some good points to make. My QFNW is - now that we've had all the top most-demaded Cantina characters revealed at once between the siters, Wolfman, Wuher, and all the mains, aside from the obvious Hammerhead (who is presumably not long off), who would be your most-wanted Cantina Patron? My pick now is Baniss Keeg cuz we really need her to go with Ellorrs Madak, and a 2-pack of Baniss and a new Ellorrs I think would be amazing. Tho I'd prefer they didn't use the Duros head from the 4-pack cuz it's way too small, just like the TVC Ponda Baba.

Hi Bossk, great video as always. QFNW: How and when do you think anniversaries for various Star Wars media should be celebrated? I often see fans on this channel commenting "it's the 20th anniversary of this" or "the 25th anniversary of that". I would guess the guys at Hasbro roll their eyes thinking "we can't celebrate the anniversary of something every 5 years"! I know if I had to celebrate my wedding anniversary in a big way every 5 years I would be a nervous wreck now!! What milestone years would you like to see celebrated, consistently? And which not! My thoughts on the "return to tattooine" theme could be a great opportunity for figures from multiple movies and shows as it is a central location. QFNW: do you think this theme might be a way for not recognizing the phantom menace by releasing slave anakin, a new padme, desert duel darth maul or even other creatures like an eopie or even maul's speeder. Love the channel and congrats on your 7th year. Huzzah!

Excellent video. Not really a question for next week but an interesting side note… since I backed the deluxe Cantina, I went through and watched frame by frame the Cantina scene. The only time you see the band is in close-up shots. You can see every alcove in the Cantina and the band is not in any of them. Star Wars has its little continuity errors so it’s not a big deal. Most likely The Cantina band was shot by second unit. It does look like they were in an alcove because of the lighting on the wall behind them. Interesting since I read a few complaints about the stage missing. MTFBWY

I love the cantina even though im more of a figure collector. Id love this a better Jabbas palace/droid torrure room/ rancor pit or an ewok village playset. Hope it gets funded and exceeds stretch goals & gets more tiers added. But id like more obsure characters. New aliens, side characters & ewoks. Arleil & Tonnika sisters are great but i do love all the figures to be fair.

Can I expect to see some Star Wars expanded universe figures, vehicles and other playsets related to Tatooine? Such as those from the PlayStation 4 version of Star Wars Battlefront. i would like the cantina to be one or two pieces, not many , i wouldn't be able to pick it up, it would fall apart, i wanted it be like a thing that would open up, with a floor and the bar could be the one thing you can move and take out that would be separate if it folded shut , like castle greyskull playset, and a cover or roof would be neat, and if the walls extended all the way around, their current design has breaks in the wall, that doesn't look secure.

Hey BB, great video as always! QFNW: For the love of the force, what do sequel fans need to do to get some love? It's already ridiculous how few figures we're getting from current media, but it's completely unacceptable how little support the main films themselves have received. My guess is that the sequels are more popular with younger generations while TVC is aimed at adults, but surely any (new) figures from such an underrepresented part of the saga would sell. I know those movies aren't for everyone but they have so much untouched potential for action figures. What are the chances of the sequels getting any new releases any time soon?

Hey BB... congrats on the anniversary! I have a question about pre-orders that you might enlighten us about. Since the word pre-order is used when new figures, playsets, or vehicles are revealed, how do you sell out of a pre-order? Wouldn't leaving the pre-order open to as many as possible like a HasLab project give them a better estimation on how many to produce or to ensure that everyone that wants one can get one on the primary market at a reasonable price??? Hey Tim, love the channel. QFNW Tempted to buy the Cantina but very aware that the existing Cantina figures are now going for lots of money on eBay. Do you think Hasbro will release boxes or multipacks of cantina figures? Going to be a very quiet bar scene if not as I’m guessing many will want to keep the Tonikas carded. Hey Tim, so much TVC, so little time... With the cantina being the HasLab, can you see them reissuing the following TVC figures, VC53 Bom Vimdin , VC57 Dr. Evazan & VC70 Ponda Baba? On another note, I could care less having carded figures as Tiers unlocked., as I will never be opening them. I would of liked something like a "Stage" floor that would fit in one of the alcoves, with pegs for the band, so we can fit all seven, without them falling over, and maybe some mics and a chair (I think one of them is sitting? question for next week: do you remember the accessory packs from the old 3.75 phantom menace line, i think it had some blasters, a clothe robe, lightsabers & other random stuff from the movie, how do you think they could fit something like that in TVC in a way that would make the most sense. like release packs based off different media. i this can be a good i idea for world building and honestly just getting some replacements/extras of small things you can easily lose that come with figures.

I’m an OT guy because of my age but I would’ve preferred a Bad Batch shit with all the figures they haven’t done for that line. I don’t think I’m getting this Haslab either. With that said, I’m a huge Clone Wars and Rebels fan after the OT.

Do you think Hasbro views all of the Clone Wars figures they’ve done as good enough to cover the prequel era and satisfy prequel collectors, and feel like they don’t need to do as many from the PT movies?

Hey BB... love the Content... not really a question but more just a comment but why oh why isn't 3.75 the Main line!?!?!? 3.75 is what started it all...3.75 changed the world of toys and collecting forever!!!! 75 to 80% of collectors got into collecting because of 3.75... so won't Hasbro get it together and put 3.75 at the top of the list and nothing else!!! Also, do you think Hasbro would take advantage and release kit bashed figures for new media: the Weeway bartender from Boba Fett, re-release the RA7, gonk droid, jawas (using the Teeka mold).. QFNW: a practical question for you - do you think Hasbro will make separate retro vintage boxes for both the Basic and Deluxe Cantina sets, or one box for the Basic set components and then a less fancy, simpler box for the additional Deluxe components? Cost-wise, it seems a bit prohibitive to make two different “display” boxes - what do you think?

They need to make the sand trooper four pack but the QAQC on the paint apps needs to be 100%. The Shoretroopers were so hit and miss it was embarrassing.

Question for next week. Do you think the cantina band stage could get its own separate release? Since the Cantina is modular they could make it compatible and allow us to slot it in wherever we want.

Hi BB QFNW: Hasbro have "clarified" that, unless the stretch goals are unlocked, they will not be released at a later date, even on different cardbacks. I don't understand the logic there. Surely if the campaign is successful, say with 10K backers, then Hasbro will want to provide TVC figures to populate the diorama. Telling us that Greedo, Nabrun Leids and Arliel Schous are off-limits unless they are unlocked during the campaign seems off-message. Is this just an "empty threat" to encourage more people to back the project, or do they really mean it? Thanks as always, ma man. 👍🏻

I got a few of questions for next week if that’s ok. 1. Is it just me, or does it seem like Hasbro is trying to sabotage the Cantina? It looks like the backing time is a lot lower than it was for the Ghost, no exclusive figures only exclusive cards, crazy expensive, and as someone on instagram pointed out how really difficult to clean it would be due to how they made the bar. 2. How do you clean your figures that you have on display? I started cleaning mine recently and it’s taking forever, since I’m worried I’m rubbing paint off with wet wipes. 3. What would you think of a Jawa deluxe pack? Two Jawas, some tech junk, a junk droid, and their blasters. I’ve personally never heard anyone suggest it, and I’d definitely prefer the $28 price for that, than $16 for one, or $50 for 4, what are your thoughts on it?

Despite checking regularly online prior to release they were sold out (seemingly) immediately. I was so looking forward to these and am now worried I've missed the boat. They are still marked as sold out on Hasbro Pulse and the pre-order option doesn't work. I managed to get the skiff guard three pack on secondary market for a reasonable price but wasn't sure whether they only released more than one wave when they came out. Any info/prediction?

Hey Bossk Q for next week: I haven't played Jedi suvivor yet (waiting for a special) but i noticed Patrol troopers from Solo! in the game.. hopefully this will lead to a TVC release what are your thoughts on Video games maybe including figures like this and should it be on a solo card? QFNW: 2027 will mark the 50th anniversary of Star Wars (let that sink in for a moment...we are getting really old!). I would imagine both Disney and Hasbro would want to make a big deal out of this (I'd like to finally see SW in theaters again in its original, non-special edition form, but I'm not getting my hopes up on that one). So why bring out a Haslab Cantina now and dub 2025 the return to Tatooine year? I'd save the Cantina and the retooling of the original figures for the 50th anniversary and focus on something else until then. Tim, question for next week: With reference to the Cantina floorplan available online, it seems like the Haslab Cantina is one alcove short on each side (specifically at the top). These are where a few aliens are located (Hem Dazon, Pons Limbic, Bom Vindin, and Arleil Schous at the top right, and Feltipern Trevagg and M'iiyoom Onith at the top left). Does this imply one must purchase both base and deluxe versions to acquire a more complete cantina?

I'm more of a Black Series collector, but I really think Hasbro should have been more up front with more of the cantina patrons on the pipeline. The HasLab campaign is shorter and for people like me to support this, I'd want much more assurance up front that they're going to fill out the cantina. I get the argument about the bandstand, but I really think they should have had included the bandstand as an option given the modularity. They JUST released The Modal Nodes so it's just weird to me that they don't have a place to go in the cantina.

Hi Tim. Long time viewer, first question for next week. What are you thoughts on figures being locked behind a paywall such as Haslab? I only collect the OT figures so for me I could potentially miss out on them. I realise they will most likely be released eventually but maybe not all of them will be. I think having their own unique cards is ok but keeping them from other collectors seems a bit unfair

Hello Bossk's Bounty, I know you support all media fo Star Wars when it comes to TVC. We should stand together to support TVC, because then characters of all SW media can be done in TVC without issues. QFNW, You think that Hasbro can finally complete all the characters in the Cantina, or they have a target number of aliens and stop there? Hey Tim, Hasbro claimed during the Cantina Haslab Livestream that they don't have plans releasing the Tannika Sisters or Wuher outside the Haslab on a single card... Hmmm, in your best, Jim Careys voice "So you're telling me there's a chance"... maybe they are possibly planning on a sister two pack or releasing the Bartender without the gun or extra hand... please tell me yes. 💪😉
