Yeah it’s incredible really the size of the new one compared to the old. It’s reasonably pleasant though if you was doing it for more than a few minutes you definitely need ear protection as the noise is horrendous when your driving it.
I was wondering, how does this older machine recover the grain from the field compared to the modern machines of today? I think since they go slower and take a smaller intake of grain they probably have less grain going out the back with the discarded straw. Idk, am I wrong? The technology is about the same but the new larger machines go so fast across the field that i always wonder they must be loosing a lot of grain. Am I wrong, just curious?
I think the principles are the same right back to the early threshing machines, just refined over time to allow it to be done faster and more efficiently.
