Ive owned both. Stock and lifted both. and I gotta say to be completely honest the suzuki def is better on the trails. they are so small and light they just go anywhere and do anything. The short wheel base is perfect for rock crawling. My jeep on the other hand I find bottoming out over everything, and constently not making hill climbs due to weight. I wish I could say jeeps were the better rig cuz I am an American. but in truth they arnt.... :(
The Square Headlights were used in this generation "1st one" of Jeep Wrangler which lasted from 87-95. The circular headlights were brought back to bring back the iconic Jeep look in the 96 model year and that's what they've used since. The 1st gen Wrangler used the square headlights because it was one of the last vehicles developed by American Motors "the previous owners of the Jeep brand" and as they were strapped for cash at the time "a year later they'd go under and have their assets bought out by Chrysler" the 1st gen Wrangler shared the lamps of the XJ Body Cherokees to save cost on developing a new headlight array.
that price would have been with the 2.5 L. Given the Wrangler's weight level, the performance would hardly be earth shattering and that engine was not known for being super tough, either. I like Sammys...not only can they climb, but the gas mileage would beat the 2.5 L, and given it's minimal advantage speed wise... I would take the Samurai for more MPGs alone.
@Marzocchirider6 ummm yea ive also had both and used both, but because the jeep had vastly more power to weight it was better off road. it could make it up hills much easier than the suzuki, did your jeep have the 4 cyl? mine had the best engine of all time the 4.0 ho i6 perhaps that is why it was so much better. oh yea, and the lower gears, stock i might add. and the fact that i could comfortably take 3 friends with me
@DieselFreak94 yeah but a sammy's got a shorter wheel base and is 1000 pounds lighter. And thats what matters on the trail. hahaha not horse power and and passenger room!
