Can it be saved and made into a reliable tool?
Bulk FOAM air filter material "cut to any size" : amzn.to/3cnTmQD
My favorite Spark Tester Neon Tube: amzn.to/3d8Wr6q
Tecumseh Points 2.5-10hp Condensor: amzn.to/3vV9vEK
Thoughts: This is a longer format video than I normally do and not really a how to, but a how I did it. Tell me what you think about this style. This will be a good reliable machine after the work I put into it. I've used a ton of different tillers and I will say the newer front tine tillers and rear tine tillers are garbage. Mainly just because they are so light and bounce around. Weight is your friend with tillers. I do prefer the Mid Tine(Merry Tillers) the best for working established garden soil and the Troy-Bilt Horse Rear Tine for any ground breaking but these budget Front Tine tillers, like in the video will do a ton of hard work as well.

Great video, those small B&S or Tecumseh engines are so simple to work on yet everyone is daunted by them, hence the availability in the dumpster for the person that take the time. Thanks for the vid, cheers!

These days people feel if it's over 10years old it garbage no matter what. I sold a mower years ago to a gentleman. It was a beautiful Toro that worked flawlessly. He called me 2 days later yelling and screaming at me because he looked it up and it was 7-8years old. I never sold it as newer nor told him an age, I just sold it as a good working mower. He had it in his head, that now matter how nice it was, it was old and garbage. I gave him his money back and sold it the next to to someone else.

I love to see old stuff getting a new lease life. I have an American BS 10hp about 34 years old in the back my van . I use it as compressor, and it’s up and ready to work every day. I work at tyres and it can get a large shovel wheel or tractor wheel back up fast. I service it every three months new oil etc. I got it for £180 because the customer wanted to see it going to a good home. Greetings from Ireland.

Great video and restore/rescue of an old tiller, thanks, Moe! I found one similar to that except it had a B&S engine on it. The engine had thrown a rod through the side of the block so the previous owner just threw it away. I installed a new rod and welded up the hole in the block and used it for another 15 years before I sold it. I never had to do anything to it except change the oil and belts as needed.

Set the way back machine Mr Sherman, 1970’s please... Back when after mastering points and condensers, one could tackle any engine of the day project. It was fun teaching my oldest the fine art of gapping. We tuned a chipper I got off the marketplace free. ($500.00!) He spent almost twenty minutes looking for my gap set, when I sent him for tools, I was just gonna watch. So after waiting I asked what was up. I called him over after he told me he can’t find the “nail file looking things.” I told him it’s more of an art than science, so you’re not doing brain surgery, close enough is the standard and I handed him a business card to use instead. I thought his head was going to explode, lol. I said when someone offers you a card from now on, save them then put them in the drawer with plugs, wires, plug tester light, all that misc engine stuff. Of course I’ve since got him a set of feelers, but in a pinch he now knows. You’re always passing along great ideas to share around, that’s what it’s all about! It’s what keeps me coming back here 😉👍🏼 Nice save brother, a back is a terrible thing to waste! I’d be lost without my tiller... that or walking hunched with a cane🙄

Great video dude, what brand carb cleaner is that you are using?
@sixtyfiveford
@sixtyfiveford 3 года назад
The cheapest I can find. This is Wal-Marts brand and costs me around $2. It's basically just Acetone.

Great video! Does those cans of super tech carb cleaner come with those nozzle aetups?😉

The WD-40 nozzle on these cans makes a huge difference.

@@sixtyfiveford so your transfering the nozzles from the WD-40 cans?
@sixtyfiveford
@sixtyfiveford 2 года назад
@@gregorypiercesr.794 Yes. I think I've moved this exact nozzle to at least 50-75 cans by now. WD-40 has this nozzle with red straw or a flexible straw one. The flexible ones don't work as well for carbs.

That’s great work, I seldom use compressed air cleaning carburetors also, I use the pressure of the brake clean or carburetor cleaner can like you do

I just like to see the flow of the jets. I can tell in a second if a passage it clear or an orifice is partially obstructed. The comment stems from a lot of people giving me crap on my carb videos for using carb cleaner and not compressed air.

Friend had one just like it and wouldn't run, covered in rust. I stripped it, painted it and tuned the motor. Still kicks dirt.
