HII I LOVE YUH. Also just a note, the first song is titled "Arrah Wanna", which is about Camp Arrah Wanna in Oregon I'm assuming. But it totally just sounds like an ode to drugs, sooooo whoops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
broad shoulders are the best! they help the ol' historical silhouette and make the waist look smaller! shoulders ftw! i'm guessing you got teased about it at school or something because your proportions are so enviable!
Yeah, I tried really hard to be judgy about your shoulders and understand why you feel like they look too broad, but I couldn't see it! You looked beautifully classy in both sleeveless dresses. Maybe other sleeveless styles aren't flattering on you but these ones certainly are.
Yay! I'm so happy the black dress fits you. It looks adorable on you! I'm so glad I made it to the meetup (especially since I started off in a cast member parking lot and got a little turned around. But everyone was so nice and got me pointed in the right direction!) You are even more awesome in person. I hope you do get to meet James Bond. ;)
You're the BEST! It seriously fit like a glove I was amazed! It was fate hehe! Thank you so much for coming out and I'm so glad I got to meet you! ❤️❤️
I've been dressing vintage for about 2 years now. I have always had a love for the music the hair the style that ladies lol but I'm only 16 and get lots of compliments from older women and it's my favourite thing!!
Ooh the skirts look like they fit ok! The green one btw, is a 1933 reproduction skirt. I wish I could put pictures here to show you the pattern. I loved the black dress! And I'm so glad you got to go to Magnolia street. You will have to let me know where the Sidecca was that you went to. It use to be in my mall but not anymore and I have been dying to go to another one!
They do! They're a bit big as we had expected but a little bit of alteration and they're perfect!! I'm not sure what mall we went to but I think it was in Burbank hehe! Thank you again for everything you're the sweetest!!!!
Just so you know: I was so confused to hear my name in regards to Rachel’s meet-up, and the fact that you made her vintage reproduction skirts and a dog bandana because I ALSO sew vintage reproduction clothing and dog bandanas for friends 😂😂 I think we must’ve been separated at birth or something lol. But lovely job with the skirts! I just thought it was too funny a coincidence and had to share 💜
gurl, 48$ for that dirndl is c r a z y. We should start an import/export business, because I find them all the time thrifting here in Germany for like 10€ max!
My wallet screams at me everytime I watch your videos "DON'T GET ANY BIG IDEAS" also my 1 year old was bopping every time the music got louder for a try on 😂
We all got our insecurities and your shoulders might be on the broader side (mine are too) so Im not gonna be one of those people telling you not to feel insecure since you cant always control that, what I will say is that that dress looks absolutely bomb on you and that you are absolutely beautiful and you should not be scared to wear items that emphasize your shoulders cause whether or not they are broad they (and you in general) are freaking beautiful and you can definitely rock sleevelss items and look stunning doing so! That yellow dress fit you really well so if you like it then rock it!
oh my god SAME about the pirates of the caribbean!!! i mean, i think the first three are pretty solid even though 2&3 weren't necessary, but the curse of the black pearl will remain eternally one of my favourite films of all time.
it was 12:30am, i was ready to go to bed. then, from the top of my phone a notification appears. “the pinup companion uploaded a new video”. oh well now i’m going to bed a little bit later 😹 loved the video, we have such similar senses of humour and i find that makes you so enjoyable to watch because i’ll be laughing at everything 😹 💛💛💛💛💛
Come for the outfits, stay for the Frodo 😂 Great video as usual, Rachel! I have to say, your editing style is my favorite out of all the RU-vidrs I watch ♡ Also, that Kristen Stewart bit had me cracking up!
You look so nice in all the outfits. Love the way you styled them. Also love the way you displayed the marauders map under the glass of the coffee table. I wanna steal that idea when I get a place of my own someday 😸💕
Your doggie is making me laugh! My Missy, a papillon, is exactly like that, she must get ON me when I am on the phone or eating..... she has to have my attention. Love her to death
LOOKING GORGEOUS IN EVERYTHING!!!!! I love how sometimes Frodo makes a cameo hehehee LOVE HIM. p.s. The sleeveless dress? SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY MEH!
Lovely haul. Can't pick a favorite among so many pretties. To be honest, I think us broad shouldered gals notice clothes emphasizing our shoulders and nobody else does. I used to let it keep me from wearing puff sleeves and flutter sleeves, but not anymore. I think the yellow dress looks nice on you. And your 50's pony tale is super cute today.
Next time you're in California, check out the Rose Bowl Flea Market! It's got a huuuuuge section of vintage decor and apparel (the decor is the best, the apparel can be hit and miss). It can be a little expensive, but it's just super fun to step back in time looking at all the treasures!
I never realized ever sense i was young i have been wareing 70s styles i guess its just the way mom mom dresses and has been rubbed off onto me, i can understand why i have been refferd to being a hippie, not to mention THATS LITTERALY ALL PEOPLE KNOW ME AS, also i reamember in 6th grade every one called me granny because of my vintage style, i wasnt offended at all because i kind just went for it
It is really annoying to see someone thin/thin-curvy struggle with vintage, it's like REALLY?? Tons of people in photos are your size or around your size, SO why aren't there more in stores?! For me, at a US14-16, I rarely expect any vintage clothes to be near my size. It is rare for me, but someone thin its like... really?? Basically, you need a corset or tight girdle to fit because it is all size 0s or 2s! I would be so annoyed too... But you found lots of super gorgeous stuff!! :)
Can you make a video on shopping for vintage clothes? A lot of clothes that I have seen in stores are always too small. And even if it has a size on it, its usually in inches and not the sizes we know from clothing in today's world. Addicted to your videos! Thank you for making them for a vintage kid like me!
The yellow dress is hella cute Is, too, have very broad shoulders. But as I'm considered tall at 5'6", small shoulders would look a lil silly trying to hold up "my chest world". Lol. Own it, girlfriend. You look stunning in it. Others wish they were built like us!
I was lucky enough to meet Harrison Ford in May and June off 1984 while he was working on the Movie Witness - I was hired as a Buggy driver /extra for the movie - he is such a neat guy
You make me want to go shopping 🤩 I haven’t gotten anything ‚pretty‘ in ages, just practical stuff...German winter, if you know what I mean. Not the place or season to dress in anything but warm, comfortable (bulky, misshapen) pants and sweaters and boots. Yuk. Right now it’s raining and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop before sometime next week. I mean, literally. We have like a mini rain season here between winter and spring. It not really cold anymore, but it just rains nonstop for days on end. Anyway 😁 I love the dress you’re wearing, for starters. I’m a sucker for unusual plaids and that one is gorgeous, especially with collar details. Is it vintage? And the black dress...it’s different than your usual style, but it suits you so well. And everything else, really! I‘ll have to do some style changes myself, I think...ever since I cut off my ‚girl next door’ hair (think: ‚ Mia Wallace’ in Pulp Fiction now), I feel like I need to dress the part as well 😎 Oh, what did I do!
I don't know if you have any of the 50s style rolled cuff pants, but if you do, pair them with your baseball tee and a pair of Chuck Taylor sneakers and your pony tail for a 50s Tomboy look maybe.
The Dirndl is beautiful and originally from Bavaria (I think the label says Trachten-Kleidung aus dem schönen Allgäu), but your other Dirndl are more traditional than this one, which is more of a contemporary fashion Dirndl. You can tell by the zip in the front :) The bright pink is another sign, and traditional Dirndl are more likely to cover up more, thought the balconette cut is more fashionable now. Source: Austrian who only through you realised that Trachten/Dirndl look vintage-y and is now embracing them a lot more. If you want a real typical Dirndl look out for one where bodice, skirt and apron all have different colours/patterns.
Seriously where do you get all those gorgeous white lace/frilly undershirts? God those are my favorite things ever. The only ones I can find are really cheap simple ones from the wish app. They're ok, but yours were gorgeous, maybe it's just because you're so gorgeous and have the body of a goddess....

Hahaha I feel you! I haven't bought much after all this, to give my money a break 😂😂😂 and yup the dress is from the 1950's from @sibvintage ❤️❤️ Mia has the best style so do it! 😂❤️
Hehe no problem! And not yet 😭 But soon! I'm in the process of updating my passport so hopefully I can get one soon since they need 5 trillion forms of identification 😂😂
That blue plaid you are wearing is beautiful!!! I love the collar! Omg, that Hell Bunny dress!!😍 Love the white and blue top. Oh, the dirndl!! Mr. Frodo! Sho handsome! Loved everything!
OMG!!! Soooooo...i know this like 8ish months old...buuut...cause u were talking about how peoples got u shtufff... I thought about yesterday when i was at a thrift store, and they had TONS of actual vintage and antique stuff there for suuuper cheap! Annnd i was trying on like 74746467 things and one of the true vintage 1950s skirts was too big for me...cause im a 23inch waist😔...(i try not to be but im cursed...so i have accepted it) but i tried the skirt on knowing it PROB wouldnt fit...and i instantly thought of YOU and wanted to get it for you(it was ONLY 5.99!!! Real 1950s tags n all!) Buuut...then i was like...wait...how the F would i ever get it to her... SO...i think u should get like a P.O. box or something, that way ur identity is still safe, buuut u can get gifts from US! I mean i find cheap cute stuff thats just barely too big and i would looove to have someone to give it too!!! Anywho...just sayin... Please dont think im weird for saying that...or do...whatevs...but yeah... Cuuuute stuuuffff!!!! Im suuuper jealous of the Pirates pin!!!Arghhh!!!
Just gorgeous! Also, NB ladies up to the mid-late 1960s always, always wore foundation wear. EG girdles, corsets, corselettes, waspies etc. They only had tiny waists because of this! (source: My Mum, born 1946 in the UK).
Haha! If you're in California we should visit >:D You're so funny! That would be like a 10-12 hour road trip for me to get to LA from where I live in California. P.S. it was definitely not warm here while you were in Disneyland XD
That dark reproduction dress really suits you and the neck line especially, just beautiful. You could copy the pattern of it BUT in a (or several) different fabric/colour. Regardless, that dress looks a-mazing.
I'm not sure if you ever thought about it, however, you can get some AWESOME stuff from estate sales! I got an antique etched trifold mirror for 15 bucks! And I got two large crystal waterford lamps for less than 150 (*which I later found out they were worth over 400 each!!) look in your local newspaper as well!!!
my mum doesn't actively try to dress vintage, but she does almost exclusively wear vintage-inspired dresses INCLUDING a LOT of Hell Bunny. She looooves Hell Bunny, and I'm pretty sure she has almost the exact same dress as the one you bought? Might be a different fabric but definitely at least a couple in that style
What you are wearing a Dirdel? I am a have German and have Austrian and you are aprobriading my culture. Haha just kidding it looks beautiful on you. The only thing missing form it was the skirting and a traditional blouse to make it Traditional.
