Watch me turn this $80 Buffalo drill press back into a working tool. Bought at a school auction this drill press has seen better days. The wiring was a mess, the table is broken and the bearing are shot.

Awesome job! I've just put my hands unto one of these, great video to show me how to strip it and assemble it back together... The only part I'm worried about is the spring

Solid video. Nice job with the fabrication. I was hoping for some detail on what you did with the quill, alas.

Not trying to be a critic here, but the patina on that was thing looked really good. 5:36 It's sort of like classic cars, when most people go and try to find one they always prefer one with the original paint.

Great video! Thanks for putting it together. Just bought a 1940s era Buffalo #15 in great shape for 160 bucks. Where did you get the on/off switch? Mine has the same light switch set-up that yours originally had and the cord insulation has been repaired with electrical tape in several areas. Definitely a hazard. Thanks again 🙏🏻

Gloves on a Drill Press are a HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!!!!

Yes, but, those will tear long before they pose a threat in my experience. I’d rather limit my semi-permeable organ’s (skin) exposure to chemicals and filth. And my 70 y/o skin is not nearly as tough as it once was so even nitrile gloves add a measure of protection from those impossible to see and extract metal bits.
