In this video I’ll demonstrate the functioning of the Model 7-4956B General Electric (GE) AM/AM alarm clock, with Cassette Recorder, that dates from the late 1980s to early 1990s.
I have one of these...I still use it today. I recently replaced the belts on the cassette deck as they had gone bad. What impresses me is the fidelity from the built in speaker....it sounds amazing for an alarm clock.
Downfall as you cannot set alarm to wake up to the tape player. I had one that was stereo with 2 speakers but tape player didn't survive belts melted & tuning all scratchy. Battery is for backup so if power goes out time will not be reset when power goes back on.
