Great selection..Quality of German 78's of that time is superb..Their musical films of the late 30's and war time period are as good if not better than some of the Hollywood products and the prints just sparkle in B&W..How they managed to produce some of them towards the end of the war with the country disintegrating around them is remarkable.I am great fan of Ilse Werner too Just subscribed to your wonderful channel

There were many hardworking entertainers in Europe during WWII, they pretty much did not usually agree with the fascist occupation and it's way of seeing things, but we're unable to go anywhere and they just wanted to work in their field without challenging the hardcore fascists with power throughout Europe at the time.Mussoloni and Hitler had very strong preferences about pop music ,movies, and celebrities whom they favored, often much to the distaste of the artists themselves, just trying to survive and create. Sadly people now have been known to lump together, the showbiz people with the pro-empire V.I.P. creeps in society. sometimes they were reduced to having to play along with the despots . But,just look at how many of our own countrymen felt glad to support the abhorrent former commander in chief of the U.S. in the 2016--19 bygone , misery days, of almost everyone's disrupted, damaged, traumatized, and recently effected lives, he was an aspiring fascist dictator, as well. We all know that. Still some artists were persecuted during the fascist occupation of Europe, and out of those some p deer ople we're put in the camps and some were ruthlessly murdered. So don't fail to differentiate between evil empires and the artists forced to live under them. In Germany , most of the musicians were established at the time of the great, Weimar Republic, of 1920s Berlin, and Germany. Creeps
