Another great video Mark! Thx for the heads up on the Stately aftershave. Just ordered some and have never gone wrong with any products you have favored in your videos. Speaking of videos, I've watched a number of your vintage razor videos. Which is your favorite and have you done a video of your top 5 vintage? I searched and couldn't find one from you and it would be great to see. Thanks again and keep them coming. Love your videos man. Take care.

One more thing on the Samurai - comes with a genuine leather travel case. Went with the Samurai - I no longer travel as much now that I'm retired so worst case will be I don't get BBS shave.

I have bought one such like that for my nephew: it will be a gift for him. not now: now, he is 4. I am a good uncle.

Hi Mark- Nice shave and video, thank you! I think you said it perfectly, the Tech head is very light and the handle is just too short. I have to struggle a bit to shave with my Tech with a Fat Handle; I can’t imagine it being any shorter the way the travel handle is. Take good care and enjoy the rest of your Sunday. All the best!

Thanks, Mike.:) with a regular handle, I find the Tech to be manageable.;) At least much better than the super short handle for sure.:)

Hi Mark. Interesting video, again.👍🏼 This travel razor is a really pretty. The leather pouch is absolutely gorgeous! I love the tiny pin on the front side of the pouch. A nice touch. For me personally the handle is too short to be comfortable with; it really is extremely short. My travel razor is a Parker. The handle comes in two pieces to screw together and therefore is a bit longer. And the knurling is quite aggressive, providing a firm grip even with soapy hands.

Patrick Eruimy I'm actually thinking about a Parker Travel Razor! Is the handle solid or hollow?
@Juraberg
@Juraberg 6 лет назад
The handle is hollow, BUT it weighs 40 grams, and the head weighs 35 grams. This gives a reasonalble total weight of 75 grams for the whole razor, which I find very good for a small travel razor. It gives me a very comfortable, clean shave. I would say it is somewhere between mild and middle. I bought it here: www.connaughtshaving.com/pa-1r.html As you see, the price is very reasonable. There is also an open comb version called A-1C, which I have not tried.

Thanks, Patrick.:) not sure why your comment was held for approval. Might be due to your logo change. Anyhow, all your comments have been approved from here on out. Again, apologies.:)

Hi mark. I got one of these a while back and what I love about it is the knurling on the handle. I find it gives a great grip, so I would love to get a longer razor handle with the same kind of knurling. I also like the history of it, being considered a vintage razor. But the razor itself gives far too mild of a shave for me. Would changing the blade help to make it better? What blades might you reccomend? Perhaps it would be okay for some, but my beard hair is very thick and I need a somewhat agressive razor to cut through it. And it doesn't have enough weight to it for my liking either. As they say to let the weight of the razor do the work, right? But that's not really possible with this razor. I think the reason why there are so many of these around in such good condition is because they are more of a gimmick and they simply don't shave as well as other razors which were available at the time.

Also, have you seen the Samurai travel razor and if so your thoughts? It's $18 bucks with free shipping from Etsy. Thanks to Patrick as well for his insight. Looks like it's down to the Parker and the Samurai. Reviews look really good for the Samurai and for $18 bucks I'm wondering how I can go wrong - less than a bag of good disposables!

Nice tiny razor. Got mine last week in nearly mint condition (but without the pouch) for 7€ from ebay. It`s marked K 4

I may give this razor another go. I found the handle much too lightweight.

i know it goes against conventional wisdom but have you tried using just a touch of pressure when using it. i find that works well with my aluminum razor

In all my video reviews I make sure to mention, "30 degrees, a light touch, let the razor do all the work, gentlemen."

I would like you to give it another try with a Feather blade. Do you think that might improve things for this razor? Indeed a different short handle that has more weight would likely perform better I suspect.

Guy, while it's nice to have that vintage Tech razor head, another good travel razor opton is the Prker A1R: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nxpweHgagY4.html I also liked the Classic Samurai Travel Safety Razor: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-37rEj1Rt-_I.html (Affiliate link) Phoenix shaving also offers a nice two-piece travel razor handle: phoenixartisanaccoutrements.com/collections/phoenix-razors/products/2-piece-modular-travel-safety-razor-handle-brass-chrome-plated?rfsn=4063161.c96a427
