I thought it was the kid’s grandmother. Like a special fairy godmother who has a lot of guitars. And is maybe a man. (I love this channel so I must bust balls)⚽️ 🏀 🏈
Nice father & son day 😊 Interesting stuff but, those of us who are OLD enough to remember will have a hard time reconciling the prices of these 70’s era Gibsons and Fenders that were pretty much all dogs when they came out and were a junkie compromise throughout the 80’s and 90’s. No disrespect meant, just being honest.
I feel like as time goes on, Sean and Baxter just become more and more like each other, and I'm expecting that this time next year we'll have fully matching outfits.... and I'm all about it!
Would Gibson ever consider straitening the head stocks out on a new model, you know like Fender to do away with the neck breaks??? Just a thought!..........🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶
I would love to go to one of these shows, but there's absolutely no point for me, I was scanning the background and didn't see a single lefty, is it better to have the money but nothing to spend it on, of have all the choice but no money?
Hey Baxter I almost passed out. That 64' 330 red Gibson single pickup looks just like the one I bought from a friend in 66' payed $300.00 for it excellent shape and I sold it in 70' for $350.00 I hate myself !
Thanks for the tour. There is just way too much supply in the marketplace for some of these prices. Rare ex+++ and proof instruments the exceptions for true vintage; or the Rock Star instrument.
Funny you mentioned that, we actually talked about that..were going back to reshoot it, and then...we had a nutty show moment happen and it was forgotten...good call though!
Awesome video at 4:39 there is a telecaster thin skin body for 2200 1974. Do you know where I can buy that if it's still available? Thank you so much in advance
Cool video dudes! Thanks for sharing, the prices on vintage Fenders and Gibson's are just out of control sadly...... and lots of them don't play all that great either ahah! I'll stick to regular run of the mill Gibsons and I use Warmoth for S and T style axes, they make some really fantastic shit comparable and in some cases even exceeding Fender USA imo.
I have a 65 gibson es125 tdc in sunburst instead of the cherry burst. Mine has the fixed abr style bridge with nylon saddles instead of the floating bridge. It's a cool guitar and I see it has doubled in price since I bought this one around 10 years ago.
did I see $5995 for a '76 deluxe? damn! I have a that same guitar from '78 (birth year). I LOVE the cherry burst and mini hums on mine. all original, but missing the pickguard. I'm glad I bought mine when I did!!
When I was in high school so 1978 I had a chance to buy a Gibson ES-175 I think it was that model it was the same model that Ted Nugent played. For $350. I didn’t have enough money but left to go get more. Of course you know what happened while I was gone. They sold it. Of course… that one that got away. The other is a 1974 Gibson Les Paul Standard, ebony. I bought it used for $500. Had it for about 6 or 7 months and sold it for $500. To buy a Telecaster for $500. I don’t remember what happened to the Telecaster but as it turns out I don’t have either one of those two $500. Dollar guitars anymore and wish I woulda kept the LP. It was so good. I also sold a 1984 Marshall JCM800 half stack and should have never sold that. I was dumb when I was younger. Probably still am. lol… Everyhing is priced out of reach now. It’s just ridiculous to see the exorbitant amount of money spent these day on gear. I’ll never be the same…
I take it with the internet there are no deals to be had at these types of shows? bring money, lots of it? I want American Pickers: Guitar Edition hehe Thanks for the video 🍺🇨🇦
The first guitar show I attended was in 1985, in Oklahoma City. I was surprised that there was an entry fee of $5. Once inside, there was a dealer from Dallas that had two original 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standards with original finishes. However, they had the price listed below them, and wanted a whopping $10,000 each! I told my wife, "That's crazy! No one is going to pay that much for an old guitar, no matter how desirable or rare it might be." Boy, was I wrong! Those guitars are probably worth upwards of $100K or more now. Investment opportunity gone by, but $10K for a guitar in 1985 was an insane high price, to me, and most everyone else. They didn't sell.
knew a friend who stole a 54 strat back in the late 70s from an old man. He took it apart and sanded off the finish before I got over to look at it. It was signed and dated on the neck 8/54 and the serial number was 0720. I about crapped my pants but knew he ruined its value for the most part. He had no clue what he had.
"Unobtanium" for thee but not for me. Ha Ha Ha. You probably didn't think about that too long before you said it. Yes, Big Baxter...we know you get a nice paycheck.
Question: how do they prevent theft? all those guitars sitting out, so many people, seems like a prime setting for a criminal to walk out with a pricey guitar.
Sign out front - 'CASH FOR GUITARS' Sign out back - 'cash for your kidneys!' kiddin'... Look close in Ashville and you might see the one and only Gordon Skitar in Walnut - maybe - anyone seen it?
I love music….i think I’m saying goodbye to guitars and all things rock and roll. Synthesizers are IN. Do you know according to Google, the last Rock and Roll song to hit #1 was back in 2001, by the disliked band Nickelback! 23 years ago! I don’t think guitars are going to be more important than synthesizers from here in out….23 years ago is antiquity in the music industry. We guitar players are dinosaurs trying to re- erect a kingdom that is no longer a thing.Kinda like Baxters mane or mange...heehee, I'm mean!
Oh don't say that...radio doesn't matter like it used to. The young humans are finding and listening to their music in such different ways that the charts can't figure it out. Rock n roll is still strong and alive:) But God Bless Nickleback as well!
What is up with you guys and your hairstyles? You have taken " wash and wear" to a whole new level. Just because your in the guitar business does not mean you have to go with the most ridiculous look you can come up with. Are you trying to make some kind of a statement? Theres nothing wrong with taking a little pride in your appearance, maybe combing it down or just shave your head my God.
4 years ago, these unelected officials, essential and unessential and here we are again. Festivals, all that... Let's not do that again mater tater. please Love yaw!
