It’s been a long while since the old girl has come out of the shed and what better day that a rainy one first half was random tracks we all knew then second was a track we stumbled into that I named Mellon
I had one ,it never failed me deep mud , deep water it just kept going I've got a beta now but i do miss the old ts185 . My legs aren't long enough for modern trail bikes but I still ride with a smile on my face.
I had 3 TS185s & rode one on Gold Medal time in a 2 Days ISDT Qualifier in conditions much like this. I also raced Pentons, Monarch, Rokon, Hercules, IT Yamahas & Kawasaki KDX in endures and was Editor at Dirt Rider Magazine. I still maintain that the TS185 is the best all-round trail & off-road bike ever built and a perfect cocktail of light weight, flickability, torque, clearance and durability for its era. Likely the bike I'd want to have back again even now. This vid -- especially that throaty little sound brings a tear to my old eye... ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Iv said it once I’ll say it again this bike is the most fun if had in a long time and I’d prefer to ride it over my 300tpi a lot of the time. I appreciate you comment mate 😁 I love how many people share love for these bikes
I have had a 1976 TS185M for 5 years that I bought from the original owner, with 10k UK miles on it. Not mint but very good and dent free, straight, totally standard. I swear if Suzuki could re-introduce a modern simple replacement they would sell boat loads of them. Gorgeous little bikes.
This is sick man I’m looking at videos of the same/similar bikes as the one my grandpa had when he was young and I came across this thinking about all the things he’s done with his can’t wait to start the restoration on his bike
I still reckon to this day that the TS 185's and the ER 185's were the best trailbikes i've ever owned, the TS's were absolutely tough little machines, although your video shows you putting a fair bit of effort in, i do hope you enjoyed your ride.
I agree and yes I loved every minute of the day. Iv always enjoyed taking the old girl out. It definitely makes you appreciate the newer bikes and good suspension travel haha
@@theboysadventures9956 I have two TS185s one is fully going and the other is a work in progress, I love the TS185 but I never thought you could do what you do on these bikes, you definitely have more skill than me.
This is one great thing about nz there’s hills everywhere. Unfortunately the uphill is the easy part on this old girl 😅 the lack of brakes makes the down very interesting
