With these vintage boots they were in rough shape. We opened them up and the footbed was crumbling, so we replaced it with a new leather one and added new geming. We then added new welt since the old welt was very dry rotted. After that we put new Dr.Sole full sole and heel to finish then up.

Do you think a job like this was worth it on a pair of shoes that were that tattered?

Great job, you are highly skilled. Interesting how you attached the welt around the heel. Obviously the owner does not care what the uppers look like.

Is that linen strip over the metal shank for anti-squeak? Was wondering why it was just over a small section. Your camera angles are improving, and love how you and customer kept the vintage uppers. Great masterwork as always. Always watching every upload!

Well done! First video I've watched from you and I've noticed you seem to do more things by hand. Do you not have the equipment or it is more or what you're used to doing? I ask because I'm (more than likely) going to be entering into this trade. Thanks!

Good job, although I was hoping you were going to restore the uppers as well. Is that corrected grain or something like that that won't take sanding well?

They could have easily done it. Some people, including myself like the worn-in look. Not everybody wants a new shiny boot. Hence why they didn't "restore" the uppers.

Do you not have a finishing machine?

Is the industrial sanding machine a necessity for cleaning up the heel and sole edges? Or is there another way that amateurs can do it? Just curious

You can sand by hand. Takes a while but it’s possible.

The markings you made on the welt, gemming and insole. What is the purpose of this?

It's a simple way to make sure we put everything back together the same and to not affect the size of the shoe.

Thank you for doing a full sole and not a half. Half soles look terrible.
