i don't know if you know this but there are more Levi's Japan Pre LVC cuts! as you said, there's the 701, 702 and 502! there's also the 503 and 503b (zipper and button fly respectively, based on the 501z and 501xx from the 50s.) on top of that, there was a later slightly more official release of the 66501 (1966 501) and 71501 (1971 501) and finally the 551z (that one's just a 551z, doesn't really need clarifying) - which I believe were the earliest OFFICIAL LVC cuts. also worth noting about the 66501 is that there's a traditional '60s 501 version and a "custom" style, with a lower waist and some fun little details - i think they might be designed with women in mind? the last 3 cuts that i mentioned had MiUSA and MiJapan versions, both are pricy and hard to find - but these are also probably my favourite Levi's cuts of all time. apologies for the ramble, i have just done an INSANE amount of research about these jeans. i find them fascinating.
As far as I remember, it was made in 1998-2000 as 125th anniversary edition. Both rigid and several patterns of vintage custom version was made as limited edition (not numbered).
Got myself a LVC Cone Mills 1954 (2012) repos. How to these compare to the original vintage, are they worth it at 100 bucks? New to the denim world, thanks for input!
Sweet vid as always Clark! Was going to recommend checking out Den in Denim but I see you are already hip to the channel. I know you like your denim jackets but have you ever considered a Schott G1?
