Wow! An old abandoned farm! From the looks of things it's been abandoned for quite a while. The car appears to be a 1961 or 1962 Ford station wagon Country Squire. I fell in love with the Cat! It's a cute little guy. For years I wondered how many silos were loaded without a visible elevator. From your community post I researched the machine you showed that answered my long time question. Once again you got my brain working! Thank You!

Hello, William! Thanks a lot)) Sad, i couldn't come to the silo closer. Maybe something interesting was there. Too many thorns at bushes, I'm getting stuck 🙂

@@walkingcam1 I hope you didn't get too many thorns making this video. Just one is bad enough. This Papec Machine Company took me down quite the Rabit Hole. I learned so much due to my search. There are some great pictures of this machine on the Rochester photographic site both at the original manufacturing site but in use in the field. They show the machine in action being run by a steam locomotive tractor with a long leather belt handling the power transmission. Priceless! Another shot shows what appears to be a very early Hit and Miss powered farm tractor. Again Priceless! I also learned something about the process that happens in the silo that enables this ground up plant media to be used for feed. I have learned so much from the seed this video planted in my old brain. Again, Thank You so much. Keep doing what you are doing!

@@williamwintemberg i got enough and one deer tick :)) I didn't hope to find any info about the spreader or cutter after the trip, but unexpectedly met fans on the Internet who still repair and use these machines. But it's still a secret for me how famers filled silos up without any conveyors. Seems like it's too high to be done by hands.

@@walkingcam1 The Papec Machine fills the silo. It's not just a chipper/shredder but a blower as well. The discharge of the chipper/shredder which is also a blower sends the material up a round metal tube to the top of the silo. It's an amazing piece of equipment for it's day. I did find a specification on the maximum height the silo can be but I forget the exact number however, it's able to easily blow material to the top of most silos. Again, what a rabbit hole I went down. Even at my old age I still love learning. Your videos plant many seeds. Your channel is so different. It causes one's mind to wander and paint it's own picture. Very different in a very good way. IMO.
@walkingcam1
@walkingcam1 2 года назад
@@williamwintemberg damn me, now i understand what the reason is to install blower on the shredded. When i found it a week ago, i started gathering information about how this machine was used, but couldn't understand the purpose of a big fan and exhaust pipe. No that's clear. Thank you, William, for enlightening me on this matter :)

Sometimes I think places like this call out your name, that they want to be rediscovered though undisturbed. What I enjoy most is that there is not the usual chatter between the videographer and the scenes, you let us enjoy the moment(s) without the useless commentary.

Truck on the right is a late 30s to early 40s Ford - could not tell much about the other one. The station wagon is a 59 Ford Country Squire

Thanks for details, Philip! Sometimes that's really hard to unearth any info about vintage finds. Usually subscribers know much more than the Internet recourses 👍

Car is a 1959 Ford Country Squire, wonderful video! Where is this place? Would love to tag along some time for my photography stills if that is possible, your channel is amazing, I just discovered it today: 5/5/2022

Hello, Demetri! Thanks for the nice comment of sharing info about the car! Regarding site location, sorry. I'd be happy to tell a lot about historic and protected locations but have to be reticent when telling about abandoned places lost in woods. Really want to save those gems of history.

New subscriber here. How far out in the woods are these abandoned pieces of equipment? Is it possible to rescue any of them before they rust into the earth. I would love to put that truck body on another frame or something. Please let me know. I am in Pa. We go camping on the pine barrens all the time. I would love to rescue that old caterpillar before it is non reusable. It looks like someone died and they cleared everything that was worth anything out long ago. DO you know anything about the area where that stuff is?
@walkingcam1
@walkingcam1 Год назад
Hello, John. Sorry, mate, i don't share rare locations. Anyway, this place is inaccessible for wheel vehicles now, the road leading there has being overgrown since 60s

Sticker bushes everywhere. Trucks are from the 30's 40's era. Who would start a farm that deep in the woods? Something very odd was and could still be going on in this area. Very suspect. Near a water source. What's in silo? What is around silo area you skipped a ton.
@walkingcam1
@walkingcam1 Год назад
that was a special pleasure to wade through the bushes up to the top of the hill. Honestly, i couldn't reach the silo, because of those the accursed thorny thickets. Got enough wounds for a day. Do you think something interesting might be over there? Technically, i can make second attempt. Hope, scrappers didn't find the place yet.

Комаров почти нет, а вот клещей - просто тьма! На этот раз повезло, одного на себе поймала, когда назад ехала. Прошлым летом по три штуки из себя выдергивала((( Успевали присосаться.
@KraftManSirius
@KraftManSirius 2 года назад
@KraftManSirius
@KraftManSirius 2 года назад
@@walkingcam1 Главное не давайте им присосаться, делайте своевременный осмотр, как можно чаще и снимайте их. И всегда опрыскивайтесь каждый раз перед походом.
