Quick look at the 1984 Matchbox Voltron aka Beast King GoLion. This was the first release of Voltron figure from Matchbox, modeled from the original Japan’s Popy Beast King GoLion figure released in 1981. This is another great addition into ever-growing vintage toy line collection.

Trust me, still want a soul of chogokin Voltron 🤩 mainly to display the five lions separately but hope to find all five lions in the Panosh Place version

I had one of these when I was 12. I loved it. I remember it was really heavy. Seemed more like a display piece then an action toy. But it was rugged. Very well constructed. I just got a Voltron gx71. That is my replacement for the matchbox and I simply love it.

They are such nice figures. I’ve recently got mine from eBay uk. I’m not transforming mine until I can fix the transforming mechanism in the legs for mine.

I've had one of these on display for 30 years and never knew about the sides of the yellow lion and the movable chrome piece on the blue one. I noticed my yellow lion does not have the red parts - have to dig the box out and see if they're in there. Great video. It's always cool to learn something new about something I've had forever.

Yeah there’s many variants to Voltron over the years. I hope to complete a Panosh Place Voltron in the near future, currently have the black lion 😊

@@MrDomoToys In all honesty I have a small collection of them. I was actually watching to see if there is a better way to remove the arms. But, with me doing my best to piece them together, I've made up my mind that if I ever fully take home apart, it will be with a screwdriver, so I don't break any tails, haha.

Hahaha... yeah those tails break easily 😬 As a kid I only had the yellow lion, so always wanted to own all lions and combine them together...almost got the SOC Voltron but thinking of looking for the Panosh Place set 🤩

I remember it.🤔 I wasn't really interested in it as a kid. If I remember correctly, it didn't have any articulation really. Just something that rolled around the floor with a remote.

Please tell me how to take the arms off. I'm not sure if there is a certain way you have to do it and when I try it feels like it's going to break. Please help.

No special way to removing the arms, just pull them straight out 👍

@@MrDomoToys, I fully committed to just pulling them right out after I had commented lol Thank you for responding though. Just felt like I was going to break them. I scored one a few weeks ago, the Red Lion was on the left side and the Green Lion was on the right, so it was bugging me lol I had to change them. Thanks again!

🤣 Totally understand... when I scored this Voltron it’s been in Votron mode ever seen, but thinking of getting a Taiwan reproduction Voltron to display the lions with weapons 👍

I'd like to eventually get another one to display them like that as well. I do that with a lot of my G1 Transformers(displaying in alternate modes).
