I had this in about 1972, UK version is Haunted House and USA version is Which Witch as per this video. I bought a relauched version for my son in 1996 called Ghost Castle with a glow in the dark plastic skull instead of metal ball bearing. 3 years ago I bought a mint condition 1970's Haunted House from Ebay :-)
1:29 I was very young playing this as a child, my imagination made the game so much more scary! I can still remember the stairs but not much more 45 years on. Watching this now, what a fun game to play still!
Thank you so much for making and posting this video. Brings back a lot of good memories. Ouch now i feel like a witch has put a spell on me because now i feel soooooooo OLD.
This copy seems to be missing one major piece: the actual swinging broom that's supposed to hang in the broom room. When the ball was dropped down the chute, it would knock the broom, causing the players to be swept off the board. The ball didn't hit the players directly. (Not on that spot, anyway.)
They’ve just put the broom the wrong way up. The broom head should be pointing upwards. The ball would hit it it and it would sweep down from above then. (Think this is my first ever comment since joining RU-vid in the early 2000s) used to love this game.
I remember this game! I don’t know why it just popped into my head when a quick search revealed this video... Thanks for the memories, only wish I still had the actual board game.
This was one of my favorite board games when I was a kid……until an adult daycare worker broke the notch that held the swinging broom in place by prying it off. I was so upset!
Wow, you made a nice video to promote your eBay auction, in FHD 9-years ago. That alone is worthy of a thumbs up! Hope your auction did well. I'd never heard of this game until I was scanning some old family photo negatives and had enough resolution to identify my sister sitting with it, probably around 1970. I then went to eBay out of curiosity to see what the complete game is selling for today. On completed/sold listings, a few were over $150 delivered. Maybe my sister would be better off not knowing that tid-bit. There are more listings for incomplete game sets, which naturally bring less money.
But, thanks for posting this. It brought back many long-lost, happy memories. It led me to find the 30-second commercial on RU-vid, which then triggered the memory of the swinging broom. It was my favourite piece!
Nicely done video. Hope the winning bid was to your satisfaction. I honestly don't remember this game, probably never played it. But, what brought me here is an old photograph with my younger sister I scanned from film...taken around 1970-71. The photo's resolution is good enough that I could read "Which Witch?" on the tower or chimney of the game. So, thanks for the fine video showing me what she was playing with.
We still have our original large box edition like this (the board doesn't fold). I uploaded a creative vid that fell on deaf ears ; "HALLOWEEN Which Witch? Game, Cauldron Prop, Graveyard Fog, Cedar Point Witches | Collection THX1138"
