My non-scientific review of vintage audio and stereo gear. For speakers, I am comparing them to my baseline, the New Large Advent, another vintage speaker from the late 70's. Note: a sharp eyed viewer noted that these are actually the 2a version vs the 2. As well, it has a newer tweeter that was most likely replaced due to the original being blown.
Scoring: 5 areas - each area being worth 20 points to a total possible score of 100
-Style: How do they look, ease of placing into a room/setup, etc.
-Imaging: How broad or narrow is the soundstage, separation of instruments/voicing
-Lows: Is there sufficient low end or does it need to be supplemented, is it boomy, etc.
-Mids: Good separation of voices, clear and out front
-Highs: Detailed, tonal aspects, non-fatiguing
