In the 70s my father made me cut one acre of grass with a 4 blade push mower the grass was about two feet high and it took me three days to do it cut the grass was dry I struggled a little bit but was able to get it going LOL the neighbour saw me cutting the grass and he told my dad that the farmer down the road had horses and they would love to graze so I didn't have to cut the lawn anymore I was only 15 years old but I did not have any fat on me I was so skinny in fact I was the skinniest girl in high school
Thanks Alex for the great video. I've been wanting to know more about these for ages. I've recently got back the itch for a stripe filled lawn and these vintage ones take me back to when I was a young boy mowing the lawn for my Mum. All the best and thanks again 👍
Great video Alex. I have an old push mower that's leaning up against the garden shed totally seized. Now I'm close to retirement I think its time to pull out the wrenches and try and get it going. I'm hoping the WD 40 will free things up so I can dismantle it.
oh lord. Im 49 and remember in the early 80s using one to do my Grandparents tiny yard. IT SUCKED!!! I hated that push mower. Blades were dull as hell, heavy, allergies.....lol
great video, never seen the gear ratio explained properly or the scissor action before. most of the sharpening videos also involve using pretty toxic paste, instead of a file or sharpening stone.
Thanks Alex I have a qualcast model H that has been sitting in my shed for a while You have given me a motivation to tidying it up Great video mate , love the chooks and pug 👌
Looks like the ramps at the ends of the blade are facing towards the ground is all, never seen one installed like that may just be the camera. Still doesn’t beat a nice push mower though! Only found your channel a few days ago from an old Kerosene heater video and I’ve been watching through all your videos, enjoying the new camper project ones! All the best
